Observations
George Reynolds
Thanks, guys, for all the observing reports. I have been vicariously enjoying them. My wife and I have been sick since Thanksgiving, and so I have done no observing. I laid on the couch all day Saturday and never even changed it off my pajamas.
I'm feeling somewhat better today, but Linda is still suffering. Thanks for letting me "observe" through your reports. |

Hope you’re both back to 100% soonest George!

Thanks, Matt. I am feeling better, and making plans for Thursday night's meeting. I will be discussing what to look for in a first telescope. George George Reynolds "Solar System Ambassador" for South Hampton Roads, Virginia Back Bay Amateur Astronomers (BBAA) http://www.backbayastro.org

Well, Bill, as a matter of fact, we tested several days ago for COVID, and came up positive. I, however, am skeptical of the Chinese-made test kits. If I were the Chinese, I would want everyone in the U.S. to think they had COVID, and get them scared. I will retest tomorrow, and I am confident it will be negative. (And that is positive.) Brilliant skepticism. Well done George. On a personal note: I tested positive in April and a week or so after symptoms stopped, tested negative with the same test. Who knows? Carpe Noctem Bill McLean

After the club's anniversary luncheon I'm driving to Radford to help my daughter recover from another major surgery. I can't take the chance of being around someone who was just sick with COVID Thursday at the meeting. I'm sure that others will feel the same. George you should do the presentation through Zoom instead. If you insist on coming in person, I can't attend on Thursday.
BTW I checked the test kits that were sent out by the government and they're made by Siemens in Texas. George please let me know what your intentions are so I can plan accordingly. |
