Saturday "Sun Dat"

Kent Blackwell

We had a beautiful day at Elizabeth River Park in Chesapeake. I should have taken my TMB 100 & Herschel Wedge but Bob and I didn't want to stay long.

It was nice seeing everyone, including Shawl with his 10" Dobsonian fitted with his homemade Baader solar filter.

Mel Sprull's 60mm convertible Lunt was nice. The image was surely bright, showing a several mostly small prominences. Mel also has the 80mm but he bought the 60mm for outreaches because it's so lightweight.

We walked to the top of this bridge last year.

It was a great event. I think we ended up with between 20 - 30 people showing up.
Mel key me take some pictures through his telescope with my phone and this is one of them.

Kent,

I usually attend Saturday SUN Day, but missed this one -- and I missed seeing you and Bob!  Sorry I missed you.

I was helping at Linda's Tidewater Quilting Guild quilt show.  She made me a "star gazer" quilt.

You can't really tell from the photo, but the quilt is adorned with sparkly things like twinkling stars.
