Hope springs eternal. We have an observing session coming up this Saturday at York River State Park. This is an open to the public event and the park stays open till we leave. Food Lion or Harris Teeter brands are brand names but not "Name Brand" :) Just yell "FREE COOKIES!!! " cause in the dark and late at night noone will ever notice ;) Then again, if you did buy the Name Brand stuff, you should maybe ask for donations and put out a cup. Thank you Jim. I will take your kind suggestions under consideration. BTW Troy, Bob and I were nearly overwhelmed with the turn out. We saw a UFO before the Night Hike deposited 25 potential stargazers at least 10 to 15 folks showed up to see what they could see. Good skies turned into guite good skies turned into clouded over by 11. Brad, the park ranger was with us and said the park promotes out visits. I texted Daryl- the founder of this event and he wished he could join us somehow from Wyoming. On a personal note I am very gratified this park, which means Brad Thomas, is so welcoming to us. Space-X launch of starlink comm sats. Indescribably impressive from the dark skies in Ocracoke. It lit up the entire sky. Washed out everything except Jupiter in this photo.
