That old adage - no good deed goes unpunished:-) Your going to be working harder in retirement than you did the last 5 years! Going to be over in Larkspur next week, might head over the hill your way

Astromart used to be the goto place, but then the jerk who owned it got greedy in addition to being a complete jerk and started charging out the wazoo for everything. Cloudynights is where I'd look no

Hi Stu - was that the Mid Atlantic Star Party (MASP) you were thinking of? It was near Robbins, NC. I know you attended at least once, and probably more than that. For years it was at some scout camps

Same here - was a bit murky and some lightening up to the north, but southern Milky Way and the Comet were outstanding in binoculars.

Eyepiece revamp
Chuck, as much as you like that 14mm, the 10mm will blow you away even more. The 14 has a bit of field curvature, not enough to be objectionable, but its there. The 20 is worse, but again, not enough

Here is a scary email (and an untimely one). - just read below. I ordered plastic eclipse glasses and paper eclipse glasses from Amazon back in June knowing that they would be harder to get the closer

Yep, that and the A-10. Both built for doing just one thing and both doing it exceptionally well. One looks fast just sitting still and the other looks mean as heck just sitting still.
