Robert Hitt and I might be there, donning masks and keeping social distancing. I've never looked through my telescope with a mask so that might be fun.

Re: Solar report June 7
Yeah, Kent, we saw those sunspots Saturday at SUN Day at
Elizabeth River Park. It was nice to be able to show visitors something on the sun for a change.

This program isn’t too onerous and if anyone wants to take it on, I can help guide you in target selection and utilizing the AAVSO resources necessary to complete it.
I do love a good planetary

Good to see some BBAAers doing Astronomical League programs! With over 65 programs, there really is something for everyone.
Of course, everyone should first do the Planetary Nebula Program (but

Solar report June 7
There isn’t much to report as far as prominence go i H-alpha light but there’s a fairly small sunspot visible in white light, with three smaller ones next to it in a triangular shape. Visible at

Thanks guys. The noise just keeps me from bringing out more of the detail in the nebula. More exposure time would help too but it is Daylight Savings time and my dog gets me up at 6am regardless of

Solar Prominence
Welcomed, June 1. A good day to start with an excellent prominence on the northern limb of the sun. It has been inactive what seems like years.

Re: We Saw ISS & Crew Dragon Flyby
Bob & I saw the ISS low in the northern sky, the passing under Vega. We were lucky to have a clear area of the sky but it soon clouded up and we did not see the Dragon.

We Saw ISS & Crew Dragon Flyby
Just observed a pass of the ISS followed only a couple minutes later on the same path (34 deg up max) by Crew Dragon chasing it. Wow! I didn't know what to expect from the Dragon vehicle – it was
