Re: Just like the old days
Very deep sky stuff for a 4" scope, Mark! Sh 2 and Vdb objects are usually cause for eye strain here. But no discouragement intended -- as someone famously said, you can't get a ticket for trying.

Just like the old days
Another fine night. As it did not get dark until very late, around 2330, I decided to lay down until the appointed hour of 2300. It occurred to me that I have not come very far in 63 years fro 40

Finally a good night.
Cool temperatures and fairly clear skies necessitated staying up late last night to make up for what seems months of inactivity on the astronomical front. I could detect that it got dark about six

Oh yea! I went on one total solar eclipse expedition in the Arctic Circle on a cruise ship. We were the only ship in the area for hundreds and hundreds of miles. All I could think is I hope we don't

Re: Blue Moon Festival @ Hunt Club Farms
Mark,
It is listed correctly as the 28th on the NSN calendar. Where is the confusion? Did we list it incorrectly at the meeting?

Re: Eclipse reservation
The Jarvis twins and myself will be going to Santee, SC. It looked to me to be the closest point from VB to the line of totality. I made my reservations on March 1 and got two nights at Rodeway Inn

Anyone see anything from this tonight? I didn't see a notice that it was scrubbed again. Also looked and looked for the launch but did not see that either. But we saw lots of haze, etc. around, so
