I thought I had posted a report on our Chippokes night, but I just realized that I posted a report to the BBAA FAcebook page, but not here on the Yahoo Group.  For those of you who do not do Facebook, here is the Chippokes report:

Jim Tallman and I went to Chippokes State Park last night (Saturday night, 6/29/12) and put on a little presentation for about a dozen and a half people. It was sunny and hot when we set up our scopes just before sunset, but clouds started rolling in from the west. Jim wisely suggested the visitors looks through his scope at the moon and Saturn (in the daylight!) before the slide show, in case the weather turned nasty. After the slide presentation of "Animals of the 'ZOO-diac'", I started to set up my telescope to look at the moon. Just then a big wind came up, and the lightning started flashing, so we packed up and everyone went back to shelter. As I drove home down routes 10 and 17, toward the southeast, the storm was following me. It finally hit after I arrived safely home. Despite the turn in the weather, we had a good presentation at Chippokes. Thank you, Ranger Jennica Waggoner for arranging it, and park policeman Nathan Young for turning off the
security light so we had a dark observing area next to the Conference Shelter.

Dale,

SkyView was the app that my grandson had that allowed you to overlay the star info onto the input from the camera, essentially allowing you to point the ting at the sky and the display showed the night sky in realtime via the camera and the app OVERLAYED where it thought stars ought to be. In theory you should be able touse that one alot. I have downloaded it on my phone, but not used it yet. Cameron was using it at GB when were screwing around over under your canopy with you he was overlaying the "bear" constillation on top of me for a while. remmeber?

favorite, comes in 3 pay flavors, is NOT upgradable from one version to the
next (is it's only drawback "my opinion"). There is almost nothing you can
