We had an awesome light show here in NC last fall. 
Opening day of the MidAtlantic Star Party in Robbins.  Within 30 seconds, everyone at the star party was standing next to their telescopes staring off to the north watching the aurora.  It lasted a good 20 minutes.  Its the quietest I've ever heard the observing field in Robbins =-)
