Description:
The B&ORHS Archives conducts a weekly sorting session every Thursday from 9:00am to 5:00pm at the Archives facility located in Eldersburg, MD.  All Society members and prospective members are invited to join our Archives Volunteer group. Coffee and donuts are provided in the morning; volunteers can either bring their own lunch or join our normal group lunch delivery order from a local lunch shop.  The Weekly Sorting Session work is the same as the traditional Monthly Sorting Sessions (on the third Saturday every month). Inclement weather policy applies to all scheduled sessions.

Given the ongoing restrictions in the State of Maryland due to the COVID-19 virus, the B&O Railroad Historical Society Archives building reminds visitors and volunteers to observe the following guidelines.

Registered Volunteers and potential visiting researchers must be pre-registered to be admitted into the Archives Building as described below. With limited space due to Social Distancing, we may not have room for you otherwise. Thank you for your cooperation.

"Registered Volunteers" are members who have worked at the Archives previously and who will be contacted by BORHS VP Grant Berry to sign up for each week's work session, which will be open to a limited number of volunteers. If you are not currently on that list and would like to be added, contact Grant at vp@.... Researchers will be welcome upon making an appointment through Grant at least 2 weeks in advance.

We are taking action to minimize health risks to our teammates, our visitors, and our community by adhering to recommendations of CDC. Per Maryland Regulation, a face covering will be required; Social Distancing will be performed; and materials will be provided for continual disinfecting.

Thank you for your understanding and patience,
 The B&O Railroad Historical Society
