A note about real vs. clone Arduino Nanos
Larry i ve seen a page comparing arduino consumptions genuine and clone, it wasn’t so different, more reliable with genuine (quality test) but not bad at all for the great majority of clones remi f1mq

I ve got some problem with the nano included in the raduino you could have the same with all blinking » clones or genuine : it seems that one output was shorted to ground making great current consumpt

This picture shows the 2 way pins can be soldered reverse on the nano, i choose the first one (not on the desktop) leaving plastic on the CH340 side, it allow using the nano either normal or reverse s

Add in 6b : modify the raduino vanilla software to use kd8cec memory manager and get the settings -so you can put these settings in your other nano with the kd8cec software neesing very few calibratio

@leonard : i don’t grimp, i prefer solder (take care to jeep or small to get in the hole) @robert thank you for the hint/tip completing my Link to item (it’s obvious but i ve not thinked to do it ;-)

Thanks Jerry, Vince, Ralph and others I cutted the pcb to disconnect capa and socket REF pin from the AREF processor pin (if the problem have been a short capa or short circuit on this part of PCB it

Thanks for advice and links (i already looked at this ch340 datasheet but it's very short and incomplete -no data about 3v3 output voltage interval) I've got something : only 36ohms between gnd and 5V

7805 Input is direct battery=12.55V (if it’s going hot, IT me and IT HAS power to dissipate due to current x deltaV) 0,23A is a problem when : - it’s going to heat too Much the 7805 - at least 2 om me

Mike (and others), the 7805 output is (only) 4.79V, with input at 12.55V (see picture) (Pb battery), I assume the low voltage is due to high current/power drain (0.23A = not far 2W), I don't think the
