Hey Jack, Very cool. Imagine, for Education? Our current Millennial crop would laugh at that. That brings me to another point. This uBitX project is awesome because it is bringing together new and old

Almost the same experience! My ham roommate bought an Altair 8800. Man, those 2102 RAMs were expensive. Also used ASR33. Now the arduino that powers our uBitX is 10,000 times more powerful. 73, Gerry

Love this thread!!! I've been a ham 45 years and a software engineer for about 30. This give and take on this reflector is refreshing. Many RF guys giving good advice on RF-related mods and changes. T

BITX for 10 meters
Agreed. The transverters are of basic design, similar to the uBitX. They take some tweaking to make work, and cannot be over-driven. They are “decent” portable performers, but crunch in very high sign

Search Transverters on ebay... Ukraine guy has 6,2,222 and 432 transverter boards built for about $27 shipped, each. They put out about 5-8 watts cleanly. 73, Gerry W1VE

No Jerry, I would connect the dongle to the 1st I-F at 45 MHz. That way, you keep the display centered as you tune, plus you get the front end selectivity and sensitivity. 73 Gerry W1VE

Hi Doug, Agreed. I operate remotely from the Yukon as VY1AAA a lot... when on FT8, it generates Big pileups. Those people who understand how to use split in FT8 get through faster. Technique is still

UbitX I2C GPIO Breakouts?
Understood. I’m wanting to put transverters in my ubitx; would love to control the I/O switching, as well as have the display show the transverted frequency. So, these would not be signals that needed

Doug, A picture is worth a thousand words: No need, or reason, to use offset in the transmitter. In fact, if you have CAT, WSJT controlls the transmitter frequency. 73, Gerry W1VE
