Maybe this is covered deep in the thread but I see mention of Spectrogram an audio dsp program. Tune to a spot that has only noise feeding a sound card. This will show well the shape of IF filtering.

Just to add to the headache. Amplitude response is not all. Phase response has to be flat as well. This needs a little hand waving... The crystal filter has a sizeable delay between the time a signal

Ian, -27dbm at center should read less than -30dbm. So I guess you have 4-5db more signal. Change R20. first put a 1K-2.2K trimmer and bring down your line to just below -20 and check value with ohm m

To eliminat the ripple at higher bandwidth, you can increase the impedance by adding resistors in series at both ends. Start with 100 ohms resistors.
