I think you nailed it on the DTR setting. I got a fresh load of flrig (via a PPA) and in the Configuration window clicked off DTR. I was then able to change the frequency, the mode, switch VFOs, etc.

Thanks for the responses. Latest tests: run rigctl from Terminal on both the Pi and Linux computers. Here's the example on the Linux laptop with the Pi result about identical: ~$ rigctl -m 122 -r /dev

Bruce, I am running the same firmware on a v3 µBITX as well. I do not use any of the programs you mention but I leave my rig on 24/7 when weather allows as a WSPR rx. Here are my settings in WSJT-X ru

Assuming that since your are using a Pi, that it is probably running some version of Linux. Go to the command prompt and enter "su"...it will ask for the root password and then change to the "root" pr

Correction: CQRLog does track ("read") the frequency and mode of the uBitX when configured as a Yaesu FT-857 on the Pi. This is all pretty weird!

I'm up and listening on PSK31 using fldigi, the hamlib setting communicates to ubitx very well. I'm listening for now until I figure out the proper etiquette. Thanks for the help everyone!!

Zvi, Thanks Do you know if fldigi can use CAT control (PTT and Freq control) and sound card through USB with ubitx directly?

You may try fldg. One downsize, it do not support omnirig, so you will not be able to communicate simultaneously with other SW like logbook. If you use LOG4OM, there is a workaround to use onmirig.
