After building your own transceiver, maybe want to build also a morse key yourself?
#cw
I once built a straight key which used a penny as a striker plate for the key contact (which was a screw). Pennies are easy to solder to as well.

I have a metal hole punch and make contacts from Canadian or British coins that I solder to brass flat head screws and are excellent for this. Easy to solder, too.

This is not foil tape, but very thin PC board material glued to the clip. The only problem I have is that over a number of years the super glue fails so just need to apply some more.

No, the mini Altoids tin is filled with bird shot mixed with epoxy for weight. It's still too light so I cut a small piece of floor tile, cut a hole in it the size of the tin, and set the tin in the h

Forgot to add a picture of a single lever paddle I made from junked hard drive parts. Not of my design, I must add. Works fairly well up to 35 WPM or so.

The binder clip paddle looks like a "Bulldog" paddle. The problem with them is the thin foil contact tape used will eventually crush and be unreliable. Otherwise, not a bad paddle for QRS and backpack

Tom N2UHC, Nicely done! I like the binder clip iambic paddles and have been planning to build one. Did you put a keyer in the Altoids tin? Would you be able to post a couple of close up photos of it,

I've built plenty of paddles along with building various QRP transceivers. Pictures attached of some of the paddles I've built.

It is very easy while keeping mechanical stability in mind. I did not use special tools. I simply made the points on the screws with a file. No sideward play at all. Looking forward your result, Best

Yes Fabian you can install the filter inline from the volume control. You will need a SPDT or if switching voltage on and off also a DPDT switch. In any case the audio amplifier input would be connect

Fabian Also the idea of the relay is so that no wires carrying the signal need to come to the toggle switch (and potentially gather leakage from other functions) - but allow bypassing the relay when y

Fabian the relay is used to switch the filter in and out of the audio path. So if you are going to leave it in the audio circuit permanently the relay is not needed just jumper the proper relay contac
