Re: Harmonics and Relay Replacement
Yeah, the biggest hazard with those relays are the 8 pointy things on the bottom, and that it takes a soldering iron to install them.

Re: Tracing receive signal for low signal
Dave Space
I need to do some more testing as some of my bench numbers look like they might be better than Jim's.
TP 1 @ 7.150MHZ 700uV gave 0.1 p-p TP2 " 200uV gave 0.1 p-p TP16 took like 300uV to get to 0.1 p-p, so a lot more TP17 took much more like maybe over 2000uV.. have to go back and measure. (It might be my signal generator doesn't get close enough to the BFO.. have to try playing with it a bit more).

Raj, et al,
Might I please get my hands on a list or chart with TP levels, for troubleshooting purposes? I did a search here on the forum but came up empty. Thanks, Ted K3RTA

Re: JackAl Encoder question...

Dexter, That is fine if you have one and if it fits into your panel design. It was easier for me to drill a couple of hole than to try to retrofit a 5 or 6 jack assembly from an old computer. But, if It works for you, go for it.
Thanks for the suggestion. Al

Isolated headphone jack? How ancient is your junkbox? Old sound cards have them in various forms - even color-coded.

In the next few days I will do a setup and troubleshooting section to the user manual, including test voltages throughout the circuit diagram. We will post a notice when it is ready. Thanks for asking. Al

Re: ND6T AGC Troubleshooting
Albert Peter
Hi guys, The new JackAl board for uBITX uses a hybrid JFET circuit for AGC control. Have a look on hamradiodesigns.com and download the User Manual Section 2. There is a complete AGC circuit in there which works very well. You do have to break the IF chain in one spot, but nor other modifications and the uBITX reception is not changed.

I am beside myself that I cannot get this simple circuit doing something with the ubitx. I am starting with the simple version with a single MOSFET, and I may add the series one later.

Ted,

What instruments do you have? uBitx works at low signals, the signal at the product detector is almost the same as at the antenna. I have been using my spectrum analyser to get the levels. DC voltage chart is possible. Raj

You mean the complete lack of any solder or other tools anywhere in the photo? Shouldn't there be *something* in her other hand? And where is the solder smoke? I noticed all of that *after* I noticed she really is a pretty girl just as the label says:) 73, Bill KU8H
