Re: uBitx audio filtering #ubitx

Jerry Gaffke

Your BFO coming out of clk0 of the si5351 needs to be higher in frequency by about 200hz.
That's all.

From your first plot, the 12mhz crystal filter is doing a fair job, about 2000 hz wide and reasonably flat.
It is the BFO placement relative to the crystal filter passband that determines where that 2000hz slice
lies in the audio that comes out of the radio.

To any and all outside the lower 48, if you want a board send me your mailing address and I will check with the post to see about cost.
It may or may not be worth it in some cases but I will do my best to accommodate everyone I can.

Yes, nanos are cheap. I will have one tomorrow
regatding the ino files... di they have to be uploaded in sequence?

tthanks!

No. Put all of the files associated with the project in a single directory. The Arduino IDE will load them automatically and present each of them to you as a Tab above the IDE source code window. They will be in alphabetic order on the Tabs.

I'm pretty sure that's true, except the file with setup() and loop() is in the first window.

uBitx audio potentiometer question.

Paul Schumacher

I have a 50 k audio taper pot, will that work okay for the uBitx?

I also have a 10 k LINEAR taper pot, will that work?  Which is preferred?

I am trying to work around the shaft diameter problem ...

thanks,

"raduino didn't work"  does not give others much to go on if they are to help you.

What part does not work, and what have you already tried?

I could not get the blink sketch tonbe uploaded. I also tried the raduino sketch to see that tab thing you mentioned. At first I did not understand that selecting one ino file would just put them all on the arduino software
As you see an error popped up here too

Re: FS: Bitx AGC Kits

Those of you that have gotten a mail from me you are covered. If you have not gotten a mail from me at this time most if not all kits are spoken for. I am going to build the orders up and finish up the rest of the kits. I will keep this updated later today or tomorrow with what is left if anything.

the ic oscillator of raduino doesn't work i have checked it.
there is not good signal from it, i would buy a new one (because i don't have the good iron and is it too much little for my eyes) but the is no way to speack with manager of the project.
i have sent more email but i am waiting.
is there a good email to speack with their?
thanks to help me

Thanks Jerry
I deleted the original post. Here are the traces of my original audio output with 40 meter band noise input and after adjusting the BFO for better low frequency response for CW. The spikes on the left are at odd multiples of 60 Hz and come from attaching the uBitx to the PC without isolation. An isolation kit is on it's way.

And the response with the Sotabeams CW narrow filter in (550 Hz to 850 Hz) for original and adjusted BFO

By "oscillator of the raduino" I am assuming that you mean the Si5351 synthesizer chip
instead of the clock oscillator for the AVR microprocessor on the Arduino NANO board?
If that is true, how did you test its outputs to determine that it is not working?

hi Arv
sorry for my bad english i have checked the output of raduino with Digital oscilloscope the frequenzy is wrong e change rapidly the signal voltage output is too low i am sure the raduino don't work!
the Si5351 synthesizer chip is very little to made a good repair i don't have the chip, i don't have the right iron and a good glass!
so i need a new raduino board because mine is fault and don't checked from delear, at this time i have wrote one month ago and the last email was sent 10 days ago!
i appreciate your help but i need to contact the seller

Use XLoader and a ready compiled hex file.
Look here...(original v2 code is pre-compiled and ready to load)

I had the same error messages.
Found out the mini USB port was broken.
The plug was prohibited to be inserted properly by one of the small metal clips on top of the socket.
This was bent down into the socket, stopping the plug from being fully inserted.
These mini USB ports are very finicky and when you spray them with electronic contact cleaner, the solder pads underneath them let go from the Raduino board....

Can we please have a tab to a shopping cart on the website to reorder components and modules for these excellent kit radios ?

I wish i had the possibility to buy spare things such as the raduino base board. Unsolder and rake apart the nano is a pain in the neck

Bernie....I think they are so overwhelmed now that it will be months before they get back to offering anything other than just the basic transceiver.   Partly for that reason I ended up making a board to basically DO what the raduino does....  if others need it we can make it available.
