I agree that while this is not the forum for local government issues, I’m glad it was posted. We in the state of Oregon probably would not have heard about this issue. Thankfully the Oregon leaders realize the reliability of the ham repeaters and their roll in times of backup communication needs vs a system that is over priced and not reliable.
Thanks to the group for their time, I read every post on this site, lots of great information I’ve got a UBITX ver. 5 I’m playing with. Keep up the great posts
Cheers

Re: Antuino to calculate db loss

You should check if your unit needs a mod.. connect in to out and see what is the dB reading in SNA mode.
if more than -20 i.e -17 or -14 then you need to do a mod listed in the antuino group.

The readings will be wrong without the mod as the IF will be over driven.

Hello Folks, finally Antuino knocked to my door! I have played with it plotting bandpass and notch filters. Nice and practical, however how do I determine the loss of my filters in terms of db using Antuino? Can you provide a simple example so I can get the trick?

Re: Antuino to calculate db loss

Ooz,
Join us on the antuino group..

Set your center freq, select SNA mode.
Connect filter input to the top (antuino OUT) connecter and filter out to bottom (antuino IN) connector.
click Plot.

The plotted graph has a cursor at the center, you can move the cursor with the knob
and take readings at different spots.

OK have update my calculator again to include USB and LSB master calibration numbers.

Now on v5......last change all appears to work..... make sure you keep written record of your changes so you can change back to a know starting point if you type in the wrong numbers.

Hello ,

The capacitor is tap directly on the mike plug and the AF signal (in parallel in fact) The main purpose is to insulate the mike AF circuit from the vu-meter device.
I am using the full device in my other ubitx for the Measurement of the RX level tap from the R70 Resistor and the other channel for AF input measurement

Do you use the whole circuit board? Or just the meter, connected to the transformer and capacitor?  Also, where do you put the capacitor?  Would you use the capacitor to block the DC bias from shorting to ground through the transformer? Or would the capacitor be closest to the meter?

Re: UBitx v5 Not Saving Calibration or BFO adjustments with CEC v 1.20 Nextion

Evan Hand

markix88,

If you are using the KD8CEC memory manager, then you need to read the Nano, decode, make changes and then encode before you write the values to the Nano again.

Then be sure to disconnect the USB cable and power cycle the uBITX.  If you leave the USB cable connected it will keep the Nano powered and the changes will not go into effect until all power is removed from the radio and the display is dark.

I would need to understand what you are doing if you are using the stock firmware from HFSignals, as the uBITX goes into transmit mode to calibrate with the stock code.

Did not read the hole topic but v5 board has other settings for calibration than former board versions. So if you follow the calibration steps as mentioned on the hfsignals site it won’t work. Had the same.

Have to dive into my radio tomorrow to see the correct settings.
