Re: Antuino to calculate db loss

Ooz,
Join us on the antuino group..

Set your center freq, select SNA mode.
Connect filter input to the top (antuino OUT) connecter and filter out to bottom (antuino IN) connector.
click Plot.

The plotted graph has a cursor at the center, you can move the cursor with the knob
and take readings at different spots.

Normally you could take this up with the group moderator.
But in this case, perhaps your best plan is to start your own forum.  ;-)

95% of the messages here aren't of much interest to me.
That's OK.
So long as it remains civil.
Think I"ll go get a beer and kick off this thread again:  https://groups.io/g/BITX20/topic/18584402

OK have update my calculator again to include USB and LSB master calibration numbers.

Now on v5......last change all appears to work..... make sure you keep written record of your changes so you can change back to a know starting point if you type in the wrong numbers.

Hello ,

The capacitor is tap directly on the mike plug and the AF signal (in parallel in fact) The main purpose is to insulate the mike AF circuit from the vu-meter device.
I am using the full device in my other ubitx for the Measurement of the RX level tap from the R70 Resistor and the other channel for AF input measurement

Do you use the whole circuit board? Or just the meter, connected to the transformer and capacitor?  Also, where do you put the capacitor?  Would you use the capacitor to block the DC bias from shorting to ground through the transformer? Or would the capacitor be closest to the meter?

Re: UBitx v5 Not Saving Calibration or BFO adjustments with CEC v 1.20 Nextion

markix88,

If you are using the KD8CEC memory manager, then you need to read the Nano, decode, make changes and then encode before you write the values to the Nano again.

Then be sure to disconnect the USB cable and power cycle the uBITX.  If you leave the USB cable connected it will keep the Nano powered and the changes will not go into effect until all power is removed from the radio and the display is dark.

I would need to understand what you are doing if you are using the stock firmware from HFSignals, as the uBITX goes into transmit mode to calibrate with the stock code.

Did not read the hole topic but v5 board has other settings for calibration than former board versions. So if you follow the calibration steps as mentioned on the hfsignals site it won’t work. Had the same.

Have to dive into my radio tomorrow to see the correct settings.

Hello Evan, sorry for delay, i checked all the informations in your post but still today I can't calibrate my uBITX;
i tried let it off for 1 day but nothing changed; i don't know how i can upload here a video of my cal process, in case i can show to you my process.
I changed Nano but is not the problem; value don't change in the uBITX Memory Manager, i don't know what do with this problem.
Thanks for support!

Yes and no.

It sat on the table at the recent Belton Hamfest in Texas for two days before I bought it.

Considering what I paid for it ($70), it wasn't cheap, but it also wasn't snapped up by Collins collectors. It's a nice shell with nothing inside it, nothing more - it's not a sacred relic, and it's an easily obtainable item in the collector world.

(My view of the Collins market is obviously skewed by my proximity to Collin's Richardson facility and the number of friends that are former Collins employees, much like I suspect the used Drake market is around Dayton, Ohio.)
