Hi Julius,

Theoretically you can reverse the order of any series components. The
parasitics for the layout may be different, but that is about it.

You might want to take a look at <http://bitx20a.livejournal.com>
(it
seems to be down right now, but should be back up later today or
tomorrow).

Yes, I am very interested in this development..

We went to this PA design in order to meet FCC requirements for 2nd
&
3rd harmonic suppression, and to improve linearity.
Yes, I have a strong 2º harmonic in my PA and my LPF filters use only
two coils, I have one coil to be resonant to the 2º harmonic for
this, but I canot test if the harmonic supression is good.. :-( I
have not spectrum analyzer.. I suspect it's not good..

Your photos look good. From the pictures it looks like you have
two
separate crystal filters. Did you separate the transmit and
receive
paths, or are you using two filters in tandem?
Yes, I separate the paths only in the FI amplifier, I use the french
BITX FI design for the RX path. For the TX path I use a single BITX
amplifier. I am concerned by the impedance matching.. but It works,
the CAG works, the sensibility is improved.. The dual XTAL filter is
inspired in the BLEKOP BITX design.

I also see dual
BFO/Carrier Oscillator crystals, implying that your design does USB
and
LSB.
Yes, It is. The FI center is in 9.998500. I am testing the 40m band.
The LSB oscilator is in 10.000000 and the USB in 9.996000 aprox.

The rest of the group would probably appreciate seeing your
schematic once you get it ready for publication.
Yes, I am working in a asembly manual in spanish, but I can publish
as soon I ending the optimization phase :-(

I will translate the asembly manual to english if i have the time.
I am working also in a MMR-40 version (MMR-ARX ;-) ) just to compare
both designs... This is done by building another TRX board and
reusing the other boards.. I have the PCB but I'm not asembled it yet.

I'm will publish the info as soon I can..
Thanks for the reply

Good.. I'm working in a BITX version for the EA-QRP URE QRP builders
contest.

I like the BITX concept but i am locking for a util design with some
improvments. I'm working in:

- CW oscilator
- Audio CAG
- FI amplifer dual gate MOSFET based
- More powerful BF amplifier
- Easy interconection and modular aproach.

I'm building three boards:

- TRX board with SBL-1 mixer or conventional mixer, VFO amplifier,
premixer bidirectional amplifier, xtal filter, MOSFET FI amplifier,
CW oscilator, BF amplifier, etc.. 160mmx100mm

- BPF-VFO-Final board, only 100x100 with cooper screening, four bands
conmutation with diodes and 10x10 coils

- LPF with 3x4 LORLIN switch and T37-6

I think you can see the photos but I'm not sure:

Manuel

You might want to take a look at <http://bitx20a.livejournal.com> (it
seems to be down right now, but should be back up later today or tomorrow).
That shows where we are with the new Hendricks BITX20A kit. The new RF
PA uses push-pull IRF510s and easily does 10 watts on 12 volts. If you
made the inductors and capacitors a bit more robust you could probably
run this PA design from 24 or 32 volts and get 50 watts or more output.
We went to this PA design in order to meet FCC requirements for 2nd &
3rd harmonic suppression, and to improve linearity.

Your photos look good. From the pictures it looks like you have two

Yes, it is.

The files start to download but at some 64K it stalls.. then it
download very slowly... :-(
I'm sorry... But now I think the problem is over.

I'm working in my own BITX version, the BITARX ;-)
It works but I am still optimizing the desing...
They are three boards, the LPF board, the BPF-VFO-Final board and the

Hi Manuel,
unfortunately I can't download all files present at link you posted.
It seems that only "little" files can be downloaded (it semms less
than 64K).
For example .pdf files dowload starts and then stop waiting
indefinitely.
Have you tried to dowload .zip or .rar or .pdf files?

(OT) Manual needed Microdec MD300

Tim A. King, Jr. <ag4rz@...>

Hi everyone,

First, I want to aplogize to the ones of you getting this more than once. I am posting this to several groups in hopes someone will be able to help me out!

I recently aqquired a Microdec MD300 mulitmode decoder. I need some info about this unit. So far, I have used it to decode RTTY and CW, and have discovered it has a built in code practice setting. Other than that, I don't know what else it will do. It has a serial port connection on the back, as well as a code key input. It also has a battery charge LED on the front, but no battery inside, nor can I determine where one might put a battery.

I am looking for any information on this unit, and all help would be greatly appreciated! I like the fact that it decodes rtty and cw, and is very small...smaller than my 817. It looks like I might be able to use it to help with my code practice when I am away from the computer.

Thabnks in advance,

Just Google 'diode frequency doubler' (less the quotes) and you'll
find all kinds of stuff .... I believe an NE602/612 can be used as a
frequency doubler too

You are also going to need a bandpass filter centered on 7.050 Mhz to
clean up the harmonics and other spurs

I can't believe they just can't restore that portion from their

I've copied many of the files to the local system and added
them to my info archives for reference. It's faster than going off
to the net when I want a specific item. It's fortunate much of the
files section are likely also archived by the submitters.
