Found Reeds code in github and uploaded it. It's ok,
but CW starts slowly and the offset stays :D

Well, made some qsos and learning to use this. Perhaps soon
in bushes ..

Hi,

I have the NEScaf filter. I got it as an unbuilt kit from another ham who was cleaning out the desk drawers. The schematics and theory/explanation of operation are available. There is no reason we cannot buy the parts and build one dead-bug ugly style. I have come to prefer the sound card DSP for performance but that requires a @#*! computer! Not very convenient carrying all that up a mountain. It will force several trips to and from parking lot to county park picnic table, too. Computers are not nearly as lenient on batteries as 3 watt radios either.

Triumvirate Skonk Worx (TSW) updated Teensy 4.0 to NANO adapter #ubitx #v6

Since the latest TSW software (TSW_T4_V1.05) has a Real Time Clock feature, we revised the T4-NANO adapter to make it easier to connect a backup battery (included in the revised kit) so the RTC becomes almost set & forget.  You set it one time and even after removing rig power, the RTC continues to keep time due to the backup battery. 

Due to some extra parts now included with the kit plus the fact that USPS has recently increased postal rates, we have had to increase the price of the T4-NANO adapter kit from $10 to $12 USD post paid in the US and possessions.
NOTE: The adapter does NOT come with a Teensy 4.0 as that must be obtained from PJRC.com or one of their distributors.

The cost of international postage would run anywhere from $13.75 to $15 USD to ship this kit so it just isn't practical to ship it internationally unless the recipient would be willing to add that postage to the $12 price of the kit.  This can be done but we hate to charge more for shipping than the cost of the kit originally so we will handle international kit orders on a case by case basis.  It can be shipped but will be expensive due to the high cost of postage these days.

Information on the kit and our other kit (the V6 Raduino Clone) is available on TSW's website, www.w0eb.com and all pertinent documentation for the kits is also available for download in PDF format on the website.

For those wondering - the TSW software for the Teensy 4.0 enabled (with the adapter kit) operates properly on CW (transmit is on the indicated frequency and only the receive is offset by the sidetone as with ALL commercial transceivers), an on screen S meter is available if the N8DAH AGC is properly installed, and we have simplified the calibration routines to make them really easy to use.

Bitx40 with Radiuno & Rotary help

Hi all
I have upgraded to ubitx v5 & built many
But I have an old bitx40 with the POT tuning with the radiuno and I want to modify to Rotary encoder , hence I request details of wireup & sketch for the same.
( looking for the the farhans version )  
Spoke to Farhan and he asked me to lookup HFsigs page , I did not find the details with the rotary encoder / radiuno , maybe its removed as designs have been upgraded to Ubitx

Indeed your calibration is good, and rig is behaving in CW as expected with OEM code.

As mine is a v4, someone will have to point the way to Reed's code. Yes ubitx was conceived to encourage replacement code.

Located the lines in the code where cw is done. However, the code 6.3.1 in Github is
the same. Uploaded it couple of times but the thing does not change. Is there 6.3.1 in
github as the ino file is still v6.1?

Can't find the reference to the Reed's code.

One comment, the noise with no antenna is extremely low, so I would not be surprised that you have to turn the volume up full to hear anything.  If the volume is low with even a marginal antenna connected, then I would look into possible issues.  On all three of my ubitx, I get no signal at all until I touch the antenna connection to the center pole, then get a LOT of noise.

You might want to look into this as an alternative to a pre-amp:

The tda2030a can deliver 8 watts into 8 ohms as opposed to the lm386 0.700 watts.  It would be connected between the output of the board and the speaker.  It would also add some gain to the audio.

The audio squel may be unintended leakage, or related to 11 Mhz oscillator way out of alignment.

Maybe someone else could comment on touchscreen issues you cite. If you had a raduino that might be easier to integrate, if someone in the US could ship you a discarded one.

Funny thing we learn more when we have issues.

The crystals do not need to be precisely matched for this filter, except if 2 or more styles with very different characteristics were used. First, there are a lot of connections, you could sniff each junction to see if its open or shorted. Also its fair to bypass a filter in signal tracing, just with a wire.

Now if the oscillator after this stage is not working or way off in frequency,  the crystal filter would appear to be open circuit in its network behavior.

Do use a signal generator or even touching a large enough antenna at the front and back of the filter to check the difference. The loss of a working filter should be low relative to audio level with or without it.

I don't expect your transistor choice to matter much. Farhan uses those bfr93 transistors to increase 45 MHz gain relative to various sources of leakage, that plagued the different frequency plan of the earlier versions.

It looks like the earlier version is the winner on receive current draw. The V3 idles in receive at about 210ma.  Nice to know what the v6 does.

There likely is a menu setting to designate key or paddle.

Also at least in the v4, paddle use has extra resistors that must be removed or bypassed for straight key action. The ubitx actually reads a voltage level to determine what action to perform in doing cw.
