Here is a page that I found on how to connect the Nextion display to a v6 uBITX with the KD8CEC firmware installed and the tft file for the correct display installed in the Nextion display.

CAUTION! I do not have a v6.  I have a v4 and a v5 and have added Nextion displays to both.  As far as I can tell the wiring and software should work.

Are you considering upgrading from the v6's screen, or an existing nextion build? The v6's screen is not a nextion screen, and is not pin compatible. If you have an existing nextion display, I suspect, but cannot say with certainty, that they'll use the same uart port.

OK, looking at the V6 Raduino schematic, here are the TFT Display pin#'s and where they would go on the Raduino's NANO.  Also their output name so you can correlate if not using a NANO - they have to match the pin assignments in the software.

1 = VCC = to NANO pin 12
2 = GND = to Raduino ground
3 = CS_TFT = to NANO pin 28 (D10)
4 = RESET = Same as TFT pin 1
5 = D_C = to NANO pin 27 (D9)
6 = SDI = to NANO pin 29 (D11)
7 = SCK = to NANO pin 1 (D13)
8 = LED BACKLIGHT = through 22 ohm 1/4 watt resistor to +5V (hot end of resistor to TFT pin 1)
9 = SDO = to NANO pin 30 (D12)
10 = SCK =  to NANO pin 1 (D13) - parallel with pin 7 on TFT
11 = TOUCH = to NANO pin 26 (D8)
12 = SDI = to NANO pin 29 (D11) parallel with pin 6 on TFT
13 = SDO = to NANO pin pin 30 (D12) parallel with pin 9 on TFT
14 = NO CONNECTION

Dang. I was hoping that would "Just Work".

Since you were able to run a test pattern on the screen, the next step I would take would be to hook a oscilloscope and/or logic analyzer up to all of the SPI pins and compare the signals during the successful test pattern against the failing Arduino output. Not sure if you have access to those sorts of tools though.

 One possible failure point would be if the Arduino's CS pins were reversed. If you touch the screen, can you cause stuff to happen? You won't necessarily know what you're pressing, but you should be able to hear changes in the sound when you, for instance, change VFOs or bands. Alternatively, if you swap the pins for CS to the touch screen and CS to the display, does it work?

Hi, I uploaded with the new ubitxv6 or R1.5.0 firmware with 30316 bytes and 38plus tabs using old boot loader but still with white screen. J1 is jumpered , led pin on display is powered from raduino pin15 otherwise it’s blank.

Hello! Do you have one of these faceplates you removed to add the Nextion or SWR display? I ruined ours gluing in the TX/RX diode (Gorrilla glue droo down the front when I turned my back). If you have a spare, let me know. amateurradiokits.in is shut for the pandemic or I'd order there. I know they say shipping next week, but these lockdowns keep getting extended.

Thank Reed for your response.  Could you direct me to where I can retrieve R1.5.0 for down load.  One thought id v6.3.1 is the oldest firmware vs v6.1 with all the literature around and posting for the uBitx v6 how can one be sure you are getting the latest and greatest for your v6?

A few notes:
1) v6.3.1 is (uninintuitively) actually the OLDEST software. Ashhar's first release was called that, but his second release was called v6.1.
2) The delay from hearing the relay click to hearing the tone in your headphones could very well be processing time for your SDR and computer, and NOT an indication of an actual issue with the uBiTX
3) There are two pieces to the CW "badness". One is that the diodes aren't perfectly balanced, which means that you get some "leaked" signal in CW (and unsuppressed carrier in SSB) as long as the radio is in transmit mode. The other (that I tried to fix in my software) was that there was a response delay being added into the CW keyer, causing dahs to be dits, and dits to be potentially non-existent on initial startup.

I'd suggest trying out R1.5.0, and see if you still have issues. You can easily switch back to v6.1 if you find you don't like it, or if it doesn't solve your problem.
