Re: $20 ARRL coupon for completing survey
Took the survey; didn't receive a coupon. Can only try once.
Thanks anyway, Doug.

hello Evan,
Thanks for your advice.
I had some idea that the code was good, otherwise no µBitx could work.

Re: Getting the knob on the shaft
Kit,
I went back and finally could look at your picture. That is the underside of the knob that is on my Antuino, so flip it over and pry off the plastic cover on the other side. Loosen the slotted

This may be where you are off. What you calculated was the center frequency of the SSB filter if it was actually 12MHz. The capacitors in the filter shape and lower the filter frequency. Since

Re: Replacing SMD component
Hi Lawrence,
Using a toothpick and a glue stick to handle an smd component is a good tip. I will remember that one.
Thanks,

Hi Nigel,
I have two QCX, one for 40m and one for 20m. They are both very good rigs and have a great performance on CW. The uBitX is also a capable performer once it has a decent CW filter

The knob for my Antuino has a compression screw under the cap of the knob. You need to carefully pry off the cover and loosen the large slotted screw. Open so that you can fit the knob on the shaft,

Loosen the set screw on the top and then push down on it -- you need to let the leaves of the clamp expand.

Re: Getting the knob on the shaft
Photo of both knob and shaft. It looks like the knob is too small, but I'm pretty sure it came off the old encoder.

Re: Cw not working with straight key
Nigel,
I have a QSX+ and 3 uBITX transceivers (as well as a Hermes HL2) and would say that they are comparable, with maybe a little more sensitivity on the uBITX. As stated earlier in this thread,

Re: Getting the knob on the shaft
I'm not sure if this is the problem for you, but I face similar all the time between US/euro-asian controls and knobs; If it's a 6mm hole, then it must be opened to 1/4"...maybe that's what's going on
