Another thing to consider with the blue cases from eBay etc., the panels ARE steel, but the major problem is they are mounted in a plastic frame. There is no continuity between the front and back

The firmware with the "S" is the right version to use with the intention of wiring to A7 for a meter, no? That's kind of the point of the designation that way.

Use a lm385 or whatever the part number is. Voltage op amp. I use the same AGC and could not use it for A7.

Also worth mentioning, I charge and keep battery packs in an outbuilding away from anything flammable in a fire safe bag like this

You can use any CC/CV charger set to the appropriate voltage and current settings.
I use a lot of the cheap dc-dc buck

Seem to remember I had a similar issue with the S meter. I think it was the firmare I chose - Iād mistakenly used the firmware with the ā_Sā in the filename.
