Yes think so too, just hooked the antenna and a speaker up and I hear FT8 coming in on 20m so the uBitX itself is working.
Unfortunate I already had a blue backlight ordered but didn't pay attention,

Just guessing here, but maybe static fried the display. You can get a new display on eBay, AliExpress, Amazon or Adafruit.

I have also seen people put a few ferrite beads on the power leads to the fan to kill noise creeping back into the supply.

John,
once again, your software saved me tons of time in troubleshooting. It turns out I have a bad 5351 on the Raduino now.. looking for possibilities of replacing it either as a chip or completely

I built that kit yesterday and it went fine without trouble. It's compact with small parts but not that many pieces to deal with. If someone has drilled a hole, soldered and cut the traces I'd love to

Well guys...this was better tonight. Made one contact WI1B 5x4 about 2310hrs. Only station loud enough to work. Only hearing partial calls from my /mm station. Might give a 40m hamstick a try next

I just heard Tom, VE3THR marine 4, he heard me but didn't copy and then disappeared. Called CQ a few times, didn't hear anyone else.

Heard Tom and another station earlier, most likely John, but couldn't get back to either, still trying!

This quite common. To eliminate the problem make sure you have a hash filter.
Typically a 1000mfd capacitor or higher with a small resistor ( 2-10 ohm) in series, followed by another similar capacitor

You got it! I do recommend the 3 position SPDT on-off-on switch idea, though, for the front panel control. Otherwise, Kees included those shorting plugs for you. You're Welcome! 73, Don

I'm calling CQ on 7277 but have a S9 noise level here, so not sure I'll hear anything!
