I love that "Drake" spinner knob. They are pricey on ebay, so I will need to make something similar.
Nice clean job overall!

New uBITX on the air!
Mine arrived yesterday and assembly went fairly quickly. I loaded the KD8CEC software and had a nice CW QSO with a W9 in WI who gave me a 579. This was with the rig spread across my operating desk

I checked into this AGC but it's pretty expensive to ship to the US - the dollar equivalent of £25.
Has anyone found anything similar here in the US? I can build one from scratch but I would prefer

Just received my second uBITX #0219/4 ordered Feb 3. Opened it up to see what TDA2822 it had and was surprised to see that it's now socketed. I haven't seen anyone mention this. The chip is a UTC

Check your driver stage voltages against those given in the jpg in

See if they match at all.

I would call this a scribe or a grinder. The point of a burin pushes a "v" of copper away from the surface--it literally lifts the copper out of the groove. There's an interesting video at

Thanks for the info. So it seems possible but unlikely the electret is the culprit?
What else could it be? It seems likely whatever is causing our low current draw with the PA bias at 0 is related
