Hi Evan,
Thanks for your answer. I drawing new PCB and GNDREF and GND confused my mind. I thought maybe GNDREF is directly connected to the earth, but it cannot be independent of the others. But all GNDREFs I understand will depend on GND. TB3EN Türkiye'den. Elektronik Haberleşme Teknisyeni, Üye YM3KM.

Server or domain. You can have multiple domains on the same server, certificates are usually issued per domain, the ones for a full server is usually quite expensive.

apparently, the way it works is that letsencrypt.org (run by electronic frontiers for freedom guys). issues one certificate per server. this is a common practice. i have fixed the security issues now. btw. hfsigansl is open for business. - f

Yes, but he would have to have a different certificate for hfsignals and daana. He was referring to one for hfsignals and admin.hfsignals.

I was in contest, really just one of the sprints with 4 watts CW. From 1000 miles away I got a 599 report! With a lousy antenna, too. Maybe it was true... I only had to send my info *once*. I don't tell how much power I am running unless it is part of a contest report (it wasn't this time). But in some events QRP stations are worth more points:) That always helps with 'propagation'. Some of us have figured out that the spouse might be listening and then gets upset with the other ham for spending all that money on fancy gear when we can get through with very much less. Try living with that:) 73, Bill KU8H

It's a good interview with Gordon and he presents an excellent overview of the project. You can see it, starting at 5:45 into the video at:

Hi Evan,
many thanks for sharing your thoughts, I totally agree with you. I prefer to approach the capabilities of the µBiTX in little but successful steps, according to the motto "The journey is the reward" ;o) I will proceed in calibrating the radio like build out of stock and afterwards upgrade the display to Nextion like described in the link you provided. 73 de Urs

Evan Hand
Urs,
I apologize for answering your question to Reed, but could not help myself. Here is a link to the ubitx.net post on the v6 mod to use a 2.8" Nextion display. Included is a Word document that goes into more detail on how he did it. https://ubitx.net/2020/01/06/a-v6-nextion-display-conversion/ As far as performance improvement with a Teensy upgrade, I would not do that unless you have plans to use the increased processing power of the Teensy for other things than rig control. If you are planning some of the JackAl features, then maybe you should look into that mod, as it is different than the Nextion. I have not read where the KD8CEC software has been ported to the Teensy. Most of the Teensy modes were for the stock display, to improve the performance of that combination. There is developed code for the Teensy using the processing power of that controller to get performance improvements that Reed is doing with software optimization. Since you already have the Nextion display, I would also look into the further mods that Dr Lee has done on the Hamskey blog. The second Nano for further processing capabilities including spectrum display, the Memory Manager software, as well as the S meter and others that I have forgotten are what lead me to the KD8CEC modifications. The best advice that I can give is to do online research and figure out the path that you would like to follow. Above are my thoughts. Reed may differ, and that is OK with me. He has more experience with the v6 than I do, which is none. 73 Evan AC9TU

Hi Urs,
Getting both a bad nano and bad touch screen definitely made for a rocky start. I'm glad you're up and running now. TSW has a teensy 4.0 adapter, and there's also the JACKAL which has some extra filters and such, and runs on teensy 3.6. I don't have a Nextion, and I don't know of a build guide for converting the v6 off hand, but as I understand it, it's not too difficult. Reed

Hi Reed,
finally managed to enter settings menu, s. screenshots below, after doing the same modification on the Master Code sketch as on the IO-Debug code. Navigation works now through rotating the encoder and button press. Now the calibration etc can begin ;o) Many thanks for your guiding me to this point.

Als je goed bent in elektronica, koop dan de radio, if you are like me🤔 basic electronics and as hobby nice, consider the money you pay for this radio or for example a 2hand icom or kenwood. At the moment for me no time to complete the searching for making this radio working good, after summer gonna try again.

Hi Reed,
I didn't study the procedure for replacing the stock display with a Nextion in detail. Which is the latest instruction applicable for uBiTX v6? I was reading it is possible as well to replace the Nano with a Teensy 4.0, which would enhance performance? 73 de Urs
