Jason

I have been using my uBITX with no modification at all.
I have not found yet a problem with the both settings.
Maybe it's a bug I could not think of.

CW TX->RX Delay only sets the value so that it can be switched to RX when all CW transmissions are finished. Normally, it should be over 500.
And I have found a bug that is separate from this problem. The 'CW Start Delay' was not reflected in the new CW Key logic. so, the CW Start Delay value in version 1.01 does not affect CW key operation.
This will be corrected now and will be included in version 1.02.

Could you tell me more about the meaning of "extra" in your message?

No very helpful for diagnosis unless you spell out pin numbers.

Start with the SQUARE PAD as pin 1 and then clockwise 3 5 8 - 9 12 14 16

01-03-05--08
16-14-12--09

The in between pins are not there..

Currently, HF Signals is processing orders from around 18 December.   This suggests a backlog of 6 weeks or more.

On the other hand, orders may have tapered off after that date, since the HF Signals website says somewhat cryptically:

Shipping will start ex-stock in by Februry end, until then the orders are being booked in advance

This suggests that they have a good idea when they will have caught up with the significant number of back orders.

So, I would suggest that a couple of months wait is likely.

Re: No power increase with higher voltage?

Vic WA4THR

More follow-up. Voltages are all approximately what is shown in the K7AGE table for the Q13-15 devices, slightly less as I have 11.5v out of a regulator to the main board. I bypassed the regulator and ran the main board off the incoming supply, about 13.5v, and no real change other than some voltages were slightly higher. I checked in to a 40m net with a station about 450 miles away, and there is no observable difference between "high" power and standard power, confirming that "high" is only a couple of watts lower. He commented that the audio sounded good (I have made the VK3YE type of mod, ending up with 30pf).  I also have a 100pf NPO cap across L7, but I don't see how that should change things.

Truly a puzzle.

Good morning Ian,

With the CW TX->RX Delay set low 0-140 the extra dit/dah is random, with it set higher it becomes more pronounced. At the default 600, it would give an extra dit/dah after every release of the paddle. I have not made any modifications to the radio, just added the resistors inside my paddle and moved the dah wire to the dit side of the jack (internal to the paddle).

I'm no CW wiz, just a guy testing out his radio to make sure everything is working.

So there shouldn't be a 10K between the diode and the gate of the fet?

There isn't one on the original schematic and there aren't any pads on the circuit boards for one either.

Re: A SWR power bridge for uBITX

I just picked up this kit works great stock up to 15W if you have a pic programmer you can flash the SWM3 hex and get it to over 40W.

I have tested this to 50w with the SWM3 firmware and it works great, for the price its hard to beat. Next to the Oak Hills meter its worth every penny.

just a note on the build the core is 11 wraps a side not 25.

Re: ubitx project

Andrés Moreno

The project is on the right track.
Everything is already in a metal box (cookie), it is already possible to transmit, getting about 12W in 40m. and approximately 7 in 20m. For the other bands I do not have antennas.
QSO's in 40m are relatively easy to do, depending on the propagation, but even with my precarious antenna I have been able to perform QSO's with EA8 and HB9, in addition to practically all EA. Keep in mind that I use a mic preamp that has some compression.
The front-end has changed, being governed by an arduino mega2560 pro and a 2.4 "touch screen.
It is possible to adjust the frequencies of BFO, IF, CW Tone and an offset if necessary for the VFO. For the Si5351 the calibration factor and the outputs can be adjusted.
As a disadvantage, this Arduino works at 16MHz and it seems that, together with the screen, it introduces some noise. Working now to eliminate it.
I just uploaded a small video showing all that:      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=18RdGJ-0sto
or search for "ubitx EB7ME" on YouTube

Thank you very much Farhan for your great idea.

K9HZ <bill@...>

Building SWR bridges is pretty easy for most people here and there are many examples on the internet to follow if you want one.  The difficulty with the uBITx in its current form is finding a way to bring the Vfor and Vref signals into the Radurino for calculation and display.  You either have to do some pin juggling… or move some current analog features to the I2C buss.  That’s where the challenge is.

I ordered mine early/mid January and I set my expectation for early March(ish) after reading the lists and seeing the traffic.  I'm cool with that, it's clear that the uBITX has caused a LOT of demand and I'm good with that.

Hi Chris,

"It's a Long Way to Tipperary"

like the British music hall song told us.

Glad you received yours.

I ordered a BITX40 with Raduino on Feb 7.

PayPal notified me a few minutes later.

So far nothing came from HFSIGS.

Just sent an inquiry to teamhfsigs@...,

waiting for a reply.

BTW, is the BITX40 sent from stock?
