Re: raduino 1.27 upgrade

Allard,

Would it be possible to add a 10 khz tuning step delay setting in the Settings-Tuning menu of 1.27.x? I prefer to have mine tune at a slower rate (1000 ms) than the default 300 ms.

Re: Connection test between uBITX and digital communication program via cat communication #ubitx

Ian Lee

Thanks for your interesting.

It will be released in a day or two.

An error may occur when connecting to the uBITX for the first time. This is a problem with Arduino and a problem that people have known for a long time.
I have posted some related beta test results below Link.

.
I will email the beta test firmware.

Howto Firmware upload link is

You can easily restore it the same way when you want to go to the original firmware. Don't worry!

Thanks,

I see that there is an Arduino plugin for VS Code. Might be worth looking at.
If this is Visual Micro, I have been using it as my IDE for several years.
I really like it as it just seems to me to be a more "real" IDE than the
official Arduino IDE. (Probably having been doing software engineering and
hardware for 45+ years.)

Hi,
Graham here, in Kuwait.
Is it expected that the Ubitx will be stable enough for modes such as WSPR and FT8?
Thanks and regards,

I just soldered the resistor across the blue and green pins. I rolled up the green wire and tied it off.

Re: Customisable panel cutout template for the EF01 project box #bitx40

It's a pretty decent case - well great when you consider the price. Mine had some strange brown chemical staining on the inside, cleaned off easily enough with a sponge and some dish soap. Good idea to clean it up if it's being painted anyway.

raduino v1.27.4 (show callsign on LCD) for BitX40 released

Allard PE1NWL

Hi,
I've just released raduino v1.27.4 for BitX40, download it from https://github.com/amunters/bitx40

New in this release:

- Line 32: Added the ability to specify text (e.g. your callsign) on the second line of the LCD when it would otherwise be blank (tks Richard, VE3YSH).
- some code clean up

Happy BitX-ing!

Farhan reported that C210 and C216 weren't needed in the final circuit.  They appear to be artifacts from the original 45 MHz BPF, which is documented here:

Re: raduino 1.27 upgrade

Hi Hiro san,
So now you successfully installed v1.27.3, congratulations!

Perhaps you want to install v2.02 as next step?

In Europe we sometimes have a lot of interference (especially in the evenings) from some shortwave broadcast stations that are operating in 41m band. The strong signals can mix with some harmonics of the BFO frequency. As a result the mixer products (image signals) are appearing in the 40m amateur band.
But it happens only in LSB mode.  If we switch to USB mode, then the interference is disappeared.
The reason is that in LSB mode, the VFO is set to 5 MHz, in USB it is at 19 MHz (other side of IF).

Do you have this problem also in Japan?
If you have this problem then v2.02 software could fix it.
Because in v2 software we set the VFO always to 19 MHz (for both LSB and USB mode).
When the VFO is at the high side of the IF then the mixer products will be outside the 40m band.
For v2 an extra small modification (digital BFO mod) is required:
https://github.com/amunters/bitx40-raduino-v2/blob/master/operating-instructions.md

You will have less interference from broadcast stations and also less "birdies".

Customisable panel cutout template for the EF01 project box #bitx40

Hi

I wanted to share the drilling template "system" I created for making my Bitx40 enclosure using the Excellway EF01 plastic project box (from Banggood). It worked a charm for my BITX40 project. It's a Paint.NET layered image with various cutting holes and shape outlines which is then used to print a 1:1 template to stick over the plastic front/back panels for machining.

I have put it on GitHub - https://github.com/phraxoid/Excellway-EF01-Template/

You can read more about how to use it and see some photos here - https://devtty.io/2018/01/electronics/excellway-project-box-drill-template/

Hi Allard san

I installed V1.27.3 to Raduino without error.
I confirmed all function without CW mode.
I calibrated  frequency in LSB and USB mode.
I changed some parameter for my use.
I am enjoying  V1.27.3 which is very useful and nice sketch.
I will modify for CW mode .
Anyway I apreciate your help and advice.

Hi again from where the sun is shining :-)

I would also like to obtain book (hard / paperback copy, not electronic) but cost of delivery and import duties to this part ‎prohibitive...

Is there anywhere in the U.K. that book can be obtain‎ed or perhaps delivered to hotel as will be visiting in a week or so to attend funeral?

Fingers crossed!
