Hola Eduardo
Por favor toma un video con tu teléfono y subelo, explicando todo lo que hiciste y como lo hiciste, quizas el problema está en la configuración del Raduino, que a muchas personas se les hace complicado.

My Bitx40 arrived yesterday. All wiring is ok, but no rx. I heard a strong noise coming from the amplifiers, and I noticed Q3 is auto oscillating... Anyone knows how can I fix that???

I think it is shocking that you would imply you have been defrauded by Farhan. I don’t know what to say, or what Farhan can do about it. I have had nothing but help from this forum, even when I made mistakes and had to rely on members to help me repair the damage I had caused. I have never had any doubt the design works, but it is not an Icom or a Yaesu product. It is a radio for people who like to tinker. I am sorry you cannot determine the nature of the problem with your radio, but to claim that you are the victim of a criminal offence at the hands of Farhan is really shocking. I am disgusted.

Hi guys, those of you that saw my posts earlier in the week know that I have not been able to transmit with my Bitx40. Well I'll I unsoldered the original final and installed a new one that I bought from Digikey and it still doesn't work. Power on with no speaker attached it pulls 150mA. With the mic keyed it pulls 267mA. The blue trim pot has no impact on receiving or transmitting current. It's rock solid at the values listed above. I don't see any imperfections on the board and I hear the relays pulling in when I key up. I have power connected to the PA connection.

As much as I want this to work I really feel like giving up and that I've been had by Mr Farhan. I know that may be a cardinal sin for saying that on here but it seems like I have no recourse other than to turn him into PayPal at this point in time. I'll admit I'm an Electronics Technician although a little rusty after being away from component level troubleshooting for the last 25 years. I don't think it's been too much to ask that as long as I didn't make any wiring mistakes that this should at least receive and transmit after doing the wiring. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Come on, I didn't use the words criminal offence those are your words.

This is very frustrating. I've spent hours looking over this board for imperfections, bad solder joints, somethunh not connected or issues with my own wiring. I've built a lot of kits over the years, 4 in the last month, all of which have worked or had minor problems that I was able to resolve.

I beleive that some people are received these in working condition. I believe that these boards are capable of working. Mine is not. I am by no means an expert in surface mount technology. I'm just frustrated and disappointed more than anything. I don't feel that Mr Farman is a bad guy, there just no easy way of getting with the company and asking them to exchange my board. If I could buy a replacement for a reasonable cost I'd probably take that risk. I just want the thing to work.

I have a handful of mainstream radios that work so I'm not without a radio and I'm not beneath spending some time troubleshooting this thing but I've exhausted my own personal resources trying to resolve the issue.

The clear imputation here is that you are claiming you have been defrauded by Farhan. You are going to “turn him in to PayPal” because you believe you have been involved in a fraudulent transaction. Fraud is a criminal offence. Your words are as clear as they can possibly be.

I'm willing to look at your board. I'm in MD. My call is KC3BFY. I offer this service as I'm intrigued by this thread. You can find my address in the FCC database. Postage will be both ways on you,. troubleshooting will be free. I can't guarantee that I'll solve your problem, but with 40 plus years of electronics background, I'm fairly certain that I'll succeed.

The blue trimpot shouldn't do anything with the receive current, it's the PA bias. Are you measuring the current to the PA Power connector? Does the current change when you talk into the mic? Does RV136 do anything?

Vince.

Sir, I'm not going to let you make this sound like something worse than it really is.

If anyone is willing to help me resolve this I would greatly appreciate it. I'm stumped and not sure what else to do. I'm used to people coming to me in my job asking for help and I've seen people much worse than my original rant earlier. I guess I've let this get the best of me but I'm willing to get back to it.

Re: Still Not Working

Thanks Tom, I'll let you know.

Vince I've been adjusting RV1 and I haven't changed RV136 yet. RV1 makes no difference with the mic keyed. What is RV136 for before I try changing it.

So because you - out of all the people who are successfully running this radio- you can't get it to work, you're going to injure Farhan's reputation and endanger his business including the many people who count on him.

It's the PA drive. The adjustment procedure is in the wire up docs. It's one of the adjustments you're supposed to make on it.

Hi Vince, I just tried that and the current stays rock solid at 267mA when talking into the mic. I even went back to RV1 to see if that made a difference after adjust RV136 and no luck.

Surprisingly, not the first time that's been asked. The answer appears to be no. However, I know of a fellow who may have just fried his raduino, and may be willing to buy one off you. Would you like me to pass along your info?

I damaged my Raduino, and replaced it with a new one, since then I have repaired it by replacing the nano, so I now have a spare.

That is exactly it: he made a clear threat to to hurt Farhan’s reputation and business. He might not think that’s bad, but I think it’s terrible. To accuse someone of criminal behaviour is really problematic.

What about when you unplug the mic?

Have you thought to try a different microphone ???  If your mic element is dead you will see no change in TX current and no output.
Just a thought.

Re: Still Not Working

Hi Michael, I ohm'd out a spare element that I had around and it ohm'd out the same as the other one but I'm willing to solder it up to the spare connector that I had around and give it a try, that way we can rule that out. I'll do that in a few minutes. I did resolder the mic connector just before going off the deep end in my original post here but let me give that a try and I'll report back shortly. Thanks.

Re: Still Not Working

I Vince when I unplug the mic it didn't seem to change anything when adjusting the pots. I'm going to try this other element that I have and see what happens.

Re: Still Not Working

You said you don't have a speaker connected. Do you know that your power supply is clean?? A hum could be causing the odd transmitter behavior.

Re: Still Not Working

I just tried the brand new mic element that I had around and no difference.

I've been using the radio on receive the last few nights and it receives great with no noticeable noise other than the birdie around 7.199 and I've already read how to try and get rid of that.

I updated the software to 1.18 a couple of days ago. The transmit issue was there with the base version firmware and with 1.18
