Discontinuation of Isolation for Persons with COVID-19 not in Healthcare Settings

Persons with COVID-19 who have symptoms - delineating symptom based strategy (72 hours since fever resolution without use of fever-reducing meds and improvement in respiratory symptoms) AND 10 days since symptoms first appeared.

Note that there have been “reports of prolonged detection of RNA without direct correlation to viral culture”

Please review this guidance for both symptom based and test based strategies

 

Criteria for Return to Work for Healthcare Personnel with Suspected or Confirmed COVID-19 (Interim Guidance)

Return to work with symptom based strategy (72 hours since resolution of fever-reducing medications and improvement of respiratory symptoms AND at least 10 days since symptoms first appeared 

Test based strategy (resolution of fever without medications and improvement of respiratory symptoms and 2 negative tests 24 hours apart)
