Re: What to do with an Old Cars

Lloyd 600 vans and trucks were 2 cylinder, front wheel drive. They were smaller than VWs, Goliaths and DKWs.  Here's my Lloyd in 1963 out camping in Marin with my late wife. Alfa also made one with a 2 cylinder diesel.

The one I saw in Sac. had a two cyl engine, not a boxer 4 like a vw - and its name was different - I coulda sworn it was a Lloyd -

It is a Tempo Matador 1400 (non VW engine)-not sure if it is a 2 or 4-cycle.

That van has a Tempo look to it.  They made quite a lot of them in Hamburg.

I had a parking brake slip roll incident with the DS back in the early 90s and since then I've kept a chock in each car that doesn't have an automatic.

I live near San Francisco, famous for its hills. They legally require
you  to do all these things when you park:

1) Curb your wheels

2) Set the parking brake

3) Put the car in park, or in gear if a stick shift.

They'll ticket you if you don't.  A run away car on a steep hill makes a
dangerous, expen$ive mess.

After a little “incident” almost happened at a Cars on Cole event, I also carry chocks in the (low compression, weak brakes) Amphicar. Don’t want no trouble.

(Automatic spell-check thought I should “carry chicks” rather than the chalk they assigned to Red Fred! Just lucky, I guess.)
