Anyone heading to the northwest...

Gerard Chateauvieux

... with an empty trailer?

I have someone in Washington state who wants my Morris Minor. Anyone interested in making some money to trailer it up there?

The other option is if anyone knows of a reliable and reasonable shipper.

Let me know if you have any ideas/leads.

Gerard

No - mine is a red one that I hauled out of the Sierras somewhere between Chico and Touloumne - it came with an entire front body clip & extra set of doors, hood and trunklid plus curved rear sideglass.

Meant NOT making you get rid of vehicles. Fumble fingers and hitting send too fast.

I did find the VIN #

between looking carefully at the pix you'd sent me at the end of March ... and looking through my Trihawk database ... I was able to deduce 100% (as Warren had indeed given me the full number at some point)

December 1983
1P9-T101A4-DD038031

So - I'd suggest that you write that onto a decent piece of paper, and then use shipping tape to seal/mount that onto the firewall.

With that info, Jennifer should be able to go to DMV (!) with Warren's death certificate and that VIN # in order to print/release a new pink slip?

Oh !!!! looking through emails I sent you ... on March 27th I actually gave you that VIN # for the blue Trihawk .........

What we still don't know ... is if there is a VIN number stamped into the chassis somewhere.

Adam.

These are lovely old cars. Not the fastest of the breed (a 2-liter rather that BOP V8), but a durable alternative to Jaguar. The Peter Satori history and complete records are wonderful. I remember visiting a salesman friend there when the new Elans came in. Bit of a project this would be, but worth it.

And will continue to do so for the foreseeable future.

I bought 1 of my Powells from Mike Hennesey. It's actually the very first one we looked at in 2015. Wife wanted one with a fishing pole tube. So we passed on it back then. After owning 3 other Powells I texted Mike on my way thru town and he still had it. It was buried in his back lot and he had to move alot of others to get it out.

It's at my place in Oregon now and it is a very early 1954 model, one of the ones with wood bumpers and wood tailgate. I plan on a full rotisserie restore.

A few months back I bought another Powell truck, a more civilized model, it's a '56. We have 3 Powell trucks now, Powell mini bike, and a 1930s Powell radio, I started a Powell club on FB in 2016. Brad Powell, son of Hayward Powell came to visit, he interviewed me on our red truck, hope he releases the video soon. Brad has one of his dad's trucks and the only remaining Powell Campcar (motor home).
