Hard pass from me. I can do pretty much any roller coaster. But straight-drop rides do me in, and this one is just nasty.

I recently made the acquaintance of a retired gentleman who is looking to unload his 1965 Corsa Turbo.  It "ran when parked" but has been parked for a while (15 years I think he said). It's a project for sure.

Upside: it's all there. He believes it's the original drivetrain. The body is straight. The undercarriage is clean (no gunk or rust)

Downside: mice got to all the soft parts. Some rust around the windshield and rear window frames.

He'd very much like to sell it to someone who wants to restore it. It's in San Mateo.

I can relay more information or make introductions to an interested party.

Hell Explained By A Chemistry Student 😂😂😂

Ken Nelson

BEST ANSWER EVER TO AN EXAM:

Hell Explained By A Chemistry Student   (Wish I'd thought of it!)

The following is an actual question given on a University of Washington chemistry mid term.

The answer by one student was so 'profound' that the professor shared it with colleagues, via the Internet, which is, of course, why we now have the pleasure of enjoying it as well :

Bonus Question: Is Hell exothermic (gives off heat) or endothermic (absorbs heat)?

Most of the students wrote proofs of their beliefs using Boyle's Law (gas cools when it expands and heats when it is compressed) or some variant.

One student, however, wrote the following:

First, we need to know how the mass of Hell is changing in time. So we need to know the rate at which souls are moving into Hell and the rate at which they are leaving. I think that we can safely assume that once a soul gets to Hell, it will not leave. Therefore, no souls are leaving. As for how many souls are entering Hell, let's look at the different religions that exist in the world today.

Most of these religions state that if you are not a member of their religion, you will go to Hell. Since there is more than one of these religions and since people do not belong to more than one religion, we can project that all souls go to Hell. With birth and death rates as they are, we can expect the number of souls in Hell to increase exponentially. Now, we look at the rate of change of the volume in Hell because Boyle's Law states that in order for the temperature and pressure in Hell to stay the same, the volume of Hell has to expand proportionately as souls are added.

This gives two possibilities:

1. If Hell is expanding at a slower rate than the rate at which souls enter Hell, then the temperature and pressure in Hell will increase until all Hell breaks loose.

2. If Hell is expanding at a rate faster than the increase of souls in Hell, then the temperature and pressure will drop until Hell freezes over.

So which is it?

If we accept the postulate given to me by Teresa during my Freshman year that, 'It will be a cold day in Hell before I sleep with you,' and take into account the fact that I slept with her last night, then number two must be true, and thus I am sure that Hell is exothermic and has already frozen over. The corollary of this theory is that since Hell has frozen over, it follows that it is not accepting any more souls and is therefore, extinct......leaving only Heaven, thereby proving the existence of a divine being which explains why, last night, Teresa kept shouting 'Oh my God.'

THIS STUDENT RECEIVED AN A+.

Groups io cost

There's no BMW Isetta groups on Groups io. When Arcane switched over to this format did you get the Free one or the $20/mo model?   I only found 1 Messerschmitt group but I didn't search all the odd cars. Anyone know of any non Facebook Groups or forums for small cars?   I got nothing against FB but there needs to be something else for the older timers that don't do FB.

Re: Looking for VIN verifier

Lou

Hi Miles,
Let me try to understand correctly:
You own a car currently registered in Oregon and you want to get a CA title?
My experience a few years back:   I bought a 37 Chevy near Portland.  To
keep it registered in Clackamas County I had the title and registration renewal
mailed to a friend's house in Sandy.  It cost $30 for two years in Oregon.
Several years later he moved so I took my Oregon title to a Californian DMV
and paid $125/year registration + title fees.   There was no tax as there was no
change of ownership.**   DMV lost all my papers so I had to go back and pay
lost title fees etc, for the paper work the DMV lost.   Ca DMV will not give me
a clear title cuz I can't give them a second original Oregon title.  (I have since made
xeroxes of every paper I entrust to the DMV.)   **If you buy a new car in Oregon
and register it in Ca, you have to pay Sales tax of what ever your local municipality
decides to charge.  (For example: Emeryville and El Cerrito have different sales tax
so you know which Home Depot I frequent.)
    Good luck,            Lou

So, how do you reg something out of state? Oregon makes you have title in hand or you have to do a shady lien sale. In my case, I drove back into CA with a stack of papers and my CA Vin verification and got Title Only for $46.

Also found out if you are getting Title only in CA theres no sales tax.

Re: Looking for VIN verifier

Miles,

For getting only a CA title did you need to get a non-op or registration?  Did you already have a CA vin verification or did you bring the car from OR to CA to get it verified?

It makes sense that if there isn’t a vehicle sale involved there will not be any sales tax.

David

Oh, what is the HAMB?
