GTE show

Please let Rod know if you're interested in bringing modules to the GTE T-Trak layout immediately. The show coordinator needs to plan the space. Geoff |

Geoff,
Attached is a PDF file containing a proposed layout plan for this year’s GTE based upon the commitments for modules that we’ve received to date. The layout includes 24 modules as follows:
Brian (9); 6 doubles, 3 outside corners + possible additional modules TBD.
Geoff (2--Doug to bring): 1 7-ft. yard, 1 inside corner + possibly 2 junction modules if my custom 33” junction module doesn’t work out.
Mike Richards (2): 2 doubles.
Rod (11): 2 doubles, 6 singles (5 to be used & 1 as a spare), 1 outside corner, 1 inside corner, 1 end cap, 1 33’ junction module
This layout will require just over four (4) 6’ tables with 5th and 6th tables required to accommodate the overlap. I also plan to request a 7th table to serve as a storage/work table. Please give me your comments before I forward the request to James Lauser. Thanks.

The club has been at the GTE since 1992. As president, I would rather see a small layout be setup than no layout at all. There are at least two other layouts that have dropped out for this year, so it will be good for the show to have our layout.
I will be with the Free-mo layout but I can commit to an hour at the T-Trak layout if you need me.
Geoff
Geoff,
In light of the poor response to my call for modules (& operators) for GTE, do you think we should opt out of this year’s show?
In regard to the PCC show, I can bring 6 singles, 2 doubles, my inside drive-in movie corner & 1 outside corner. I also have a non-standard (33”) junction module that I can bring if we can accommodate the additional 9” in length? It would go between my “downtown” modules and Brian’s modules.

If someone can pick them up and return them, I can provide a 7X yard, an inside corner, and/or two junction modules. I will not be able to deliver them to the GTE.
I would caution that, at a public show, too much layout and too few people to run it is not a good situation.
Also, someone should take the club DCC system after the PCC show and bring that to the GTE.
Geoff
Mike,
As I indicated in my call for modules for GTE earlier this week, we are really hurting for modules for this year’s show. So far, only Brian, Mike Richards and myself have committed to bringing modules. At this point, we only have commitments for about 20 modules as compared to the 39 that we displayed at the 2018 GTE. I know that you indicated earlier this week in your message (below) that it was too early for you to commit to bringing modules to GTE. However, per my earlier call for modules, James Lauser, GTE coordinator, needs to know ASAP how many tables we need to accommodate the number of T-Trak modules that we will be bringing to this year’s show. Last year, per the attached diagram, you brought six (6) modules to the show including 2 singles, 2 doubles and 2 junction modules. I believe you also have other modules available that we couldn’t accommodate last year but that we may be able to use this year. In this regard, we’re really in need of a yard, and inside and outside corners. Thanks.
Rod
P.S. I also haven’t heard back from Forest, who brought an inside corner & 2 doubles last year; Geoff, 1 inside corner; and Neil 2 doubles. If I could get a yea or nay response from each of you, it would be appreciated. I’ve already heard back from Mike Romanowski that he will not be bringing modules to this year’s show (Mike brought 12-ft. worth of modules

Geoff ,I plan to bring modules to the Glens falls show. I will bring my double junction module and enough modules to fill an 8’ table. As far as the group on line move, I only am interested in an e-mail function for staying in communication, I don’t do much else online. I cannot see far enough out yet for any commitment for GTE. Rod, I see no issues with the plan. And if you can move two of your 1X modules to the other side, Fred's modules should fit in too. Geoff |

Geoff,
Attached is a PDF file containing a revised diagram of the layout for GTE. Per your suggestion, I have moved two of my singles to the other side of the left upright to make room for Fred’s modules (i.e. 4 singles).

Doug,
Please also grab the Digitrax system as I don’t think I’ll have room for it in my car. Also, I plan to start setting-up for GTE on Saturday at around noon. Will you be available then or won’t you be going until Sunday? Thanks.

Rod, the diagram looks fine to me. You will have a little extra space on the ends of the center table ( there is 12' of table, and a little over 10' of modules, I think). But it won't matter for the trains because the side tables can slide in or out as needed. Geoff |
