It would be interesting to see it in a layout as well. I didn't watch any movies but the pictures all seem to be construction photos. A layout with this could be quite complicated, or it could just have a return loop off one of the ends.
By the way, Groups.io is odd in that if your email provider blocks a message from Groups.io as spam, you are dropped from Groups.io. This happened to at least one group member because Mike's original message was treated as spam. I have a guess as to why they do it but I'm not positive. But if you get a message saying you've been dropped from Groups.io, please take the simple step in the email to rejoin! Geoff

Re: T-trak to N-trak module
Geoff Dunn
This was recently posted to the TTrak wiki.
http://ttrak.wikidot.com/green-ntrak-adapter-left-1 On that page are links to three other adapter modules as well. None of the pictures show how they deal with the height difference. Geoff

I agree with using the club logo. It's good to be consistent with our "branding."

Re: The bridge

Regarding what logo to put on the bridge - my thought is that if we put three logos on, it won't look like a bridge and it will be quite cluttered. There is one picture of a logo crossing all three sections of the bridge at http://www.redrivermodels.com/t-store/t-bridge.html, towards the bottom. I'd vote for just one logo in the middle, either the TTrak logo or our club logo. Anyone else have a thought?

Re: The bridge

Geoff. I agree with the Red River bridge module. I think it is safe to say the majority is not interested in any name change. I like the TTrak logo in the center arch, is there any interest in also adding our club name on the bridge as well ? Perhaps; Albany, NY on the left side, TTrak in the middle and, N-Trak on the right. Just a thought, I am ok with just the TTrak logo in the middle arch, Mike L.

My intent with the poll regarding the name change was to see if we wanted to change the club name, which would also impact what we put on the bridge module. Since we generally agreed to purchase the bridge, and the feeling is to not change our name, the next question is whether to put our existing logo or use the national TTrak logo on the bridge. Anyone have thoughts on that? I personally would prefer the Red River Models bridge with the square TTrak logo, for $99. Brian has already indicated a mild interest (!) in building whichever module we get. Geoff

Out of curiosity, I checked the NSE convention web site. That too has been cancelled, for the same reason as everything else...

The bridge

So, forgive me for misunderstanding the recent vote. My impression was we were only talking about what would be on the bridge module we are considering. The vote was overwhelming in favor of retaining our current name and I agree.
Where do we stand on the prospect of the bridge purchase? 1) Are we going to get one. 2) Are we going to get our club name or logo engraved on it, or 3) Are we going to put a more generic name or a logo on it. I dug into the archives and found the old newsletter from 1997 when we first did club shirts. Our original shirts had #3 on the back with #6 on the front. The plain black lettering became a template for the lettering used on the club 4’ duckunder. Choice two was suggested by John Valachovic and became the basis for the current logo we now use. Here is a screen shot John Henry sent. Lets continue the conversation. Hi Matt, it great to see you have found your way beck to modeling trains and I look forward to seeing you at shows in the future, when it is safe to do them again, Mike L. Re: T-trak to N-trak module
Geoff Dunn
Matt, I still have the N-Trak adapter module, but it was built for the old track spacing. Going the other way, there is a TTrak module style called a "Jackson Junction" (Steve Jackson designed it) which can be used to run the outer line around a separate loop. Some pictures of the original junctions are here: http://ttrak.wikidot.com/nvntrak:gentle-meadow . This might be a good way to have a loop for the outer line of the TTrak layout to pass through N-Trak modules.
Spacing between N-Trak tracks is 1.5", or 38.1 mm. Spacing between TTrak tracks is 33mm. The adapter module doesn't have to be very long to accommodate that difference. You could also put a couple of switches on the adapter module so you could use all four N-Trak tracks, although that would make it substantially longer. One concern with adding N-Trak modules is the physical connection to the TTrak section. We have problems at shows with TTrak modules being bumped and the layout being deformed, or modules even coming apart. Having larger modules might add to this problem. Maybe there's a way to clamp the N-Trak modules to the TTrak table. Geoff

Re: NMRA Special Announcement: Convention cancelled

My memory was that the NMRA cancelled but a local Toronto group took it over and ran it. Searching the web indicates that the NMRA ran the convention but cancelled the train show. I stand mostly corrected.
