Date

Yearly meeting

Geoff Dunn

Since I have a contractor at the house, limiting my freedom to go out and do stuff, I went through the postings on the Yahoo group about dates.  I don't know if anyone contacted John directly.

John is available Oct 7-9, 21-23, 29-30.  Dave is not available any of those dates.  Mark is available Oct 7-9 only.  Mike L. and I have implied we're available any weekend.  Rod is available most weekend nights.  Nobody else has commented on October dates.  October 9th is the Sunday of Columbus Day weekend.

John, may I suggest you pick a date and we'll have to see who can make it.

Geoff

A very belated congratulations to all of you on a great job at the convention.  Sorry I could not spend much time, these conventions have too many funthings going on.  I was particularly impressed that when I saw you early Thursday afternoon, you had operations running and the other two modular layouts didn't even have their layouts running at all.  (Their track joiners weren't even in place yet.)  Congratulations to all of you.

And also congratulations to Doug Dederick for an amazing job orgainzing the regular Ops Sessions of the convention.  He put together an amazing schedule with a lot of amazing layouts.  Thank you, again

MikeL, thanks for setting up the yard, especially since you couldn't be there to run trains.

Did you have any issues with the room during teardown?  We were supposed to have the room until 2:00.  When I returned from a prototype tour at 1:10, there was a luncheon being held in King Street 4, which had been our half of the big room.

The PP to CJ adapters don't always get removed during teardown.  I have found the club's, mine, and Bob's at various times after shows.  Stuff happens.  Still, I'll be happy to get them back.  We should make an effort to convert the club corners to PPs.  Maybe some individuals' modules should be converted too.

We have four club throttles.  We bought two specifically for this show (and used them).  We did not use the fifth circuit breaker that we bought.

Regarding the officers, the bylaws do not specify a process for nominating, so I would suggest people either email John, our current president, directly, or post a nomination on the Yahoo group.

I am glad to have at least been able to set up the yard for use during this event. Thank you all for your time and effort in putting Albany-N-Trak out there for the convention attendees. It sounds as though everyone had a good time doing this, Mike LaCasse.
P.S. Geoff, I have a set of your power pole adaptors and will bring them to the meeting on Sunday, I am planning to attend. Perhaps we could look into buying a couple more throttles for the club. Also where are we as far as officers of the club and whom among us is interested in running for the next term? I cannot devote the time as officer at this time, but look forward to doing so at some point in the future.

John, I'm about 90% likely to be able to make the meeting.  There's a family committment that day, but I hope to be done with by late afternoon...

First thing first, thank you to everyone that participated this weekend at the NER convention.  All in all it was a success and it was very useful to have the modules up and running for such an extended period, we had the chance to run a lot of trains and do some operations.

Second, it is that time of year we have our yearly meeting and hold elections.  We are proscribed by our bylaws to hold this meeting the last Sunday in September.  This would be this next Sunday.  If there are no exceptions, I would like to propose Sunday at 6:30 at Moe's on Central Ave.  I know some folks can not make it.

Currently I am the President, Geoff is Treasurer and Doug is VP.  I have chosen not to run for another term, my life is too complicated to do the position justice.  I'm not sure of the best way to handle elections, nominations and proxy votes, maybe someone with a more ready knowledge of the by laws can chime in??

Re: Yearly meeting

Geoff Dunn

I'd go for September 32nd (October 2nd), but I'm available pretty much any Sunday after 2:00.  I can make other days too.

Re: Yearly meeting and Convention wrap up

Rod Mason

John,

I’ll be returning from vacation on Sunday but I’m not sure if I’ll be getting home in time to make the meeting at 6:30 pm.  I’d put the chances of making the meeting at 50%.

Rod
