ASSL '80: Opening Series/Day Play File &c
Opening/Week #1 play file attached. Results due Wednesday evening. Two problems: Cut and Shoot and Mudville did not check the include farm rosters with your f-files. Please remember to check that when making your files. I had to rebuild your farms which is a hassle to do. Re: ASSL '80: New Orleans 3, Cut and Shoot 1
Bill P
Opened being shut out in the first 2 games, then scored 20 runs in the third, then lost by 2 4-2 games. This may well be the story of my season.

Bayou City is lucky to take three of five from the Czech Republic in a hard-fought series. BC is ready for the next series.

Re: Silver City vs Seltzer
Umpy
Season started out well for Seltzer as they took game 1 on a 9th inning walkoff homer by Ron Cey for the only run of the game. Went over the cliff after that is Silver City's offense got needed hits and 9 homers over the final 3 games win the final 4.

Thomas Battiato
Hamilton wins three of five in a hard-fought series. Oddly enough, despite losing the series, Florida vaulted into first place in the so far anemic West Division.
Manatees 8, Bulldogs 1
Bulldogs 9, Manatees 6
Manatees 8, Bulldogs 7, 14 innings
Bulldogs 5, Manatees 3

Jim Farmer
Cucamonga visits Valdosta to start the 1980 campaign. The Coconuts dominated the first 3 games as they got excellent pitching, hit like crazy and ran at will on the hapless Crackers backstops. The Crackers did rally in the final 2 games and won a pair of one run affairs. Cheers! Jim (Valdosta)

Harper Ferry vs Mt. Lebanon
Steve Alvin
Sorry, I played these games earlier, I just forgot to send in the results! Harper Ferry wins the last two easily to take the series 3 games to 2. We are ready for week 2. Steve --- "I have snatched my share of joy from the grudging hand of fate as I

ASSL '80: Results File and Trade
Week/series #1 results file attached. F-files due Saturday night.
One trade: Cucamonga sends John Wathan to Harpers Ferry for HF's second round pick in 1981. HF needs to cut a body; Cucamonga can pick from the undrafted list. Include the changes in your files if you'd like.
|
|
ASSL '80: Moose Haas Available
NO is going nowhere so Moose Haas, the fourth rated starting pitcher this year, is available. Looking for a future arm. Haas is ordinary - a 5/6 Z - for four years - but he's a solid 12Z in 1983. So, you've got a #1 guy this year and a #2 starter in 1983.

Harpers Ferry seeks power bat
Federal Arsenal is willing to part with its 1981 first-round draft pick for a power bat who has a big 1980 and at least a few years beyond. Could also offer Pat Putnam in the deal for the right player..... ==
