Post Season Playoff Format #poll

Steven Galbraith

See the source image
We currently employ a 2-3-2 playoff format. The proposed change will have us switch to a: 2-2-1-1-1 format with the first two games hosted by the team with the best record, the next two away (hosted by the other team), and then a home (best record), away, home series.

Okay, here's the pre-cuts file for 1980. It's in backup and c-formats. All teams need to cut to 30 or fewer. Please check for errors/missing uncarded et cetera.

We need to replace two owners; so I need to get that done before we go much further.

Also, any rule changes/proposals need to be submitted before we draft. I'd like to go to a 2-2-1-1 format for the post season instead of the current 2-3-2 setup. I'll make a formal proposal/poll from the groups IO site.

Email me if you're NOT returning.

Scott, John: Melonville defeated Waterloo four games to three and will go on to face Silver City in a best of seven.

The winner will face New Orleans which defeated Seltzer also four games to three.

This is the setup file for the Melonville/Silver City series. It's in c-file and backup formats. If the c-file won't load try restoring the backup file.

Scott, send your Game #1 file to John and I. John load it, play one game at a time, then send in the results and wait for the okay for the next game. Good luck.

I noticed that Jim that you had my/your team.  I've had it ever since.   Not quite the success, but I did have a season of 114 wins and didn't get in the playoffs.  Lost in the series just once.  Never been back.

Chris, just looking back on the JRob website brought back some memories for me. I had the San Diego Anteaters way back in late 40s and early 50s before I had to leave due to being in too many leagues at the time (I think over 20, almost as many as Art Widiger).

That team was the most offensive minded team that I have ever had. In the 1950 season, 3 players with over 248 hits. two with over 151 RBIs and 3 with averages over .368!!

I remember I had to set down some of my regulars late in the season just to keep them from going over their allowed plate appearances.

Would love to rejoin now that I'm retired. One problem though is that I'm traveling camping and hiking on a trip in April (not sure of exact date) and will be on the road for a month. I'll have a laptop, but some of the places I'm going don't have WIFI access.

The Jackie Robinson League has three immediate openings.

- prepping for 1971

- Available teams are Billings, Redding, Sawdust City

- League has played continuously since the 1947 season (1998 by calendar)

- We expand along with MLB, (adding DH in one league soon) with the same number of teams as real-life. This creates some usage challenges.

- BBW league, continuous ownership

- off-season roster limit of 24, though we will be voting on that

- communications through groups.io

Holler with any questions.

I just played game 3.  (Seltzer) Seltzer up 3 games to none.  Waiting on an OK from Steve for game 4.

He just moved into a new home and all didn't go as smoothly as it does on TV.  He's still trying to get things organized in the new home.  Sometimes this has to take a back seat.  We'll get there.

Scott,

C-files are notoriously tempermental, but B-files always work. Try using the Restore command in League Manager with the attached .bkp file.

Hope this helps.

Here's the semi-final setup files (in c-file and backup formats; either one should work). Need roster files to 26. This will be you roster throughout the playoffs barring injury. As soon as I get the files we can start.

John/Silver City: Having the best overall record gives you the first series off. You can send a file in later.

Did you try the b-file? That almost always loads when c-files won't. What's the error message?
