ASSL 1980 Official Draft File

Steven Galbraith

All: Here's the official draft file (attached). The draft will NOT start until I double check past trades. But this will be the official disk, pending any new errors. Please go over your roster to make sure it's correct.

Re: 1980 Traded Picks

Chris Strovel (Harpers Ferry Federal Armory)

I traded a 1980 to somebody for the pennant run in 1978, I’m pretty sure.

This is what I have right now. I'll go over the messages for 1978 to double check and see if something was done for '80 and after.

Czech has Silver City's first in 1980

Czech has Melonville's third in 1980

Polish has Silver City's second in 1980

Update: Just need Cascade Cuts

Steven Galbraith

Latest c-file (4-27 date). Please go over to double/triple check for any missing players. All duplicates should have been removed with this file.

Once we get in the last cuts we can start trading/drafting.

Re: ASSL Spokane adjustments and errors

Jim Farmer

Steven,

I made a mistake on my cuts. Johnstone should not be on Valdosta so we will keep the missing Jim Wohlford instead. If you need a new f-file, let me know.

Thanks!
Jim (Valdosta)

Okay, here's the pre-cuts file for 1980. It's in backup and c-formats. All teams need to cut to 30 or fewer. Please check for errors/missing uncarded et cetera.

We need to replace two owners; so I need to get that done before we go much further.

Also, any rule changes/proposals need to be submitted before we draft. I'd like to go to a 2-2-1-1 format for the post season instead of the current 2-3-2 setup. I'll make a formal proposal/poll from the groups IO site.

Email me if you're NOT returning.

VALDOSTA CUTS THE FOLLOWING TO GET TO 30:

Mike Paxton
Silvio Martinez
Jim Rooker
Ed Halicki
Rick Auerbach
Willie Horton
Thad Bosley
Tommy Hutton
Tim Flannery

Also, Jim Wohlford is missing from the Valdosta roster and should be a free agent. We would have cut him too.

Thanks!
Jim (Valdosta)

Need Valdosta/Cascade cuts. Let's try to get them in by early next week. We might need to replace Jim since I haven't heard from him since the season ended. We have three backup owners ready to take over (unless they've changed their minds) so we should be able to hit the ground running.

Also: Poll on playoff format closes this weekend. Right now it's 8-7 to stay with the 2-3-2 format.

Re: Ozzie Smith for trade

John Anderson

The presence of Robin Yount makes Ozzie Smith expendable.   I won't just give him away; I am looking for pitchers and draft picks of comparable value.  Keep in mind he's a SS-10 virtually every year starting in 1981, very fast, a Hall-of-Famer, and a switch-hitter.
