Re: Ozzie Smith for trade

John Anderson

The presence of Robin Yount makes Ozzie Smith expendable.   I won't just give him away; I am looking for pitchers and draft picks of comparable value.  Keep in mind he's a SS-10 virtually every year starting in 1981, very fast, a Hall-of-Famer, and a switch-hitter.

ASSL 80: Need Cuts From: Valdosta, Cascade, Spokane and Czech

Steven Galbraith

Cuts to 30 or fewer due by early next week. Once in, we can start trading and the draft. Also, please get in any proposals for changes to the rules in soon.

Updated c-file attached.

Re: Post Season Format Poll

Chris Strovel (Harpers Ferry Federal Armory)

Harpers Ferry will listen to offers for its vote in this poll. Eighth-round draft pick oughta do it. ;)

Seriously, though, I’d hate to cast a deciding vote on something on which I don’t really have an opinion....

A new poll has been created:

We currently employ a 2-3-2 playoff format. The proposed change will have us switch to a: 2-2-1-1-1 format with the first two games hosted by the team with the best record, the next two away (hosted by the other team), and then a home (best record), away, home series.

1. Yes, change to a 2-2-1-1-1 format
2. No, stay with the 2-3-2 format

Okay, here's the pre-cuts file for 1980. It's in backup and c-formats. All teams need to cut to 30 or fewer. Please check for errors/missing uncarded et cetera.

We need to replace two owners; so I need to get that done before we go much further.

Also, any rule changes/proposals need to be submitted before we draft. I'd like to go to a 2-2-1-1 format for the post season instead of the current 2-3-2 setup. I'll make a formal proposal/poll from the groups IO site.

Email me if you're NOT returning.
