HF results and injury thought

Chris Strovel (Harpers Ferry Federal Armory)

HF takes four from Hamilton. Bulldogs come out of the series hamstrung with three week-long injuries. Can we turn injuries off? You can have coverage planned, but injuries blow that up. We already use AIM, so it's not like we need injuries to limit usage.

Game 1 - HF blows three-run lead. Hamilton stitches together ten hits into four runs.

Game 2 - Steve Stone allows three hits in eight innings in 3-1 HF win.

Game 3 - Ham scores five to take a big lead in the 6th. HF scores five to take it back in the 7th. Terry Puhl's 3-run homer took it from 7-3 to 7-6.

Game 4 - Mike Norris spins a two-hit shutout to move to 7-1.

Game 5 - Armory ties it with two outs in the 9th, then Bobby Brown wins it with a walk-off walk in the 12th. It was his prerogative.

I completely agree with Chris. Games missed due to injuries are already baked into the AIM cake, limiting player usage. It makes perfect sense that injuries should be turned off.

Maybe we could just use the shorter injury period settings?

Re: HF results and injury thought

Umpy

That shorter injury box only kicks in for AIM injuries, not game injuries.

However, I do agree that AIM takes into account that if you have a PR of 800, that's about what you are going to get.  But a PR of 800 might get you a J2 or possible a J3.  That's double digits days for sure.  Couple of those in a season and you won't reach your 800 PR.

What advantage do you see using shorter inuries rather than no injuries? Thanks.

ASSL '80: Poll on Injury Settings/Changes #poll

Steven Galbraith

Edited

Should we change the current injury settings from its current setting of "All Injuries and Fatigue" to a lower setting? There are four options or choices. You can discuss these changes first before voting. If a majority (10 or more) vote to change the current settings to any other setting a followup poll to determine which specific setting to apply will be held.

Thank you for voting.
