To clarify, Ozzie Smith is still available to be traded from Bayou City.  He's not available in the draft:-)

Here's a little nugget for you - nobody who debuted in 1980 ever had a 30-homer season. Baines peaked at 29. Wallach had a 28, and Durham, Phelps, and Virgil all had 27s. Baines and Wallach each had a 26, and those are the only seven seasons over 25. It seems a fairly deep draft, just not one with a lot of power peaks.

Great, interesting stat.  I would have lost money on a bet that at least Durham had a 30 HR season.

Thanks Chris!

New Orleans: George Foster Available

NO is offering up George Foster. His best years are behind him - he's mostly a DH now but you can stick him in leftfield - but he still is a 25 homer/90 RBI hitter.

Looking for pitching and/or picks.

Re: 1980 Draft Order

Steven Galbraith

I want to give everyone 24/48 hours to go over their rosters before we start. And I'm going through another run through of past emails to make sure we have all of the trades done. We've had a few turnovers of ownership so I want to make sure the previous owners didn't trade something that the new owner isn't aware of.

Re: Ozzie Smith for trade

John Anderson

The presence of Robin Yount makes Ozzie Smith expendable.   I won't just give him away; I am looking for pitchers and draft picks of comparable value.  Keep in mind he's a SS-10 virtually every year starting in 1981, very fast, a Hall-of-Famer, and a switch-hitter.

Re: 1980 Traded Picks

Chris Strovel (Harpers Ferry Federal Armory)

Game-changer, that pick there.

Correction on my part: Yes, you traded your 4th in 1980 - not 1979 - to Boston for Heaverlo. Boston is now Cascade so it gets your 4th.

Re: 1980 Traded Picks

Steven Galbraith

Update:

Czech has Silver City's first in 1980

Czech has Melonville's third in 1980

Polish has Silver City's second in 1980

Cascade has Harper's Ferry's fourth in 1980.
