ASSL '82: Tie Breaker goes to Valdosta

Steven Galbraith

The Florida Lottery Pick 2 for today was 6-7 or odd (last digit). That means Valdosta gets the #3 slot for the first round. They will alternate with Florida afterwards.

Re: ASSL '82: Pick Two Lottery Clarification

Steven Galbraith

Just to make clear: On the lottery pick 2: It's the second number not the third optional "Fireball" number.

ASSL '82: Trading is Open

Steven Galbraith

You can start trading/moving players. No league limits on trades re future picks. If you want to trade your 1995 first - and someone will take it (the big dummy) - go ahead.

We've had no rule proposals so I'll close the period for them.

Re: ASSL '82: Draft File and Tiebreaker

Can we trade during the draft?  Can we trade 1983 picks yet?

Sincerely, Max

We need to break the tie between Florida and Valdosta for the third slot. We'll use the Florida state pick two lottery for tomorrow. If the second/last digit is even the pick goes to Florida. If it's odd it'll go to Valdosta. Teams will alternate 3/4 afterwards.

All: Okay, here's the latest APBA disk with our league/teams. It's in both c-file and backup formats.

We'll start all over again with the cuts (30 or fewer) since you may - doubtful but maybe - have wanted to keep (or cut a guy) with this disk that you didn't with the earlier one. As you'll see, almost all of the pitching grades have been knocked down 1-3 points. I have Geoff Zachn who went from a solid 14 Z to a less solid 11 Z. That's a full three points.

In any case, please go over this carefully. I think I got all of the uncarded but may have missed one or two.

Cuts will be due in a week.

Need them to get started. Let's go Michael, please.

Re: ASSL '82; New Seltzer file revised

Steven Galbraith

Yes, that's what happened. I mistakenly used your old cuts file instead of the new one. And that had the coding for the old disk.

It looks like the other teams are okay. I used their updated cuts file. Fell asleep on yours.

Just need Michael cuts and we can move on.

Very odd as to what happened.   My best guess is that when you created the new disk, and used my old file, that the players get a coded number on one of those stat.dat file or player.dat file.  With the added players, Valenzuela and others were assigned a number different from the original disk.  So when you loaded my f-file (old disk), player number 488 was Valenzuela and not one of my original schlepps.  Or something like that.  You may want to check with any other guys who just resent the file like I did.  They probably got out of whack as well.

You're at 29 with Valenzuela off your team and placed on Cut and Shoot. You can keep one more.

Re: ASSL '82: Updated Cocoa Beach F-file

Revised f-file for Cocoa Beach.

I thought I cut Jerry White, but he was there. So I am cutting him and keeping Cesar Geronimo for defense instead.

Sorry for the hassle, Steve.

Need cuts from Michael Grimm/New Team and from Umpy/Seltzer. Umpy, for some reason when I loaded your file your roster got scrambled. It added about 10 players from other teams. Probably something at my end or maybe both.

In any case, load this and try to do a new f-file. Or just send me the cuts.

Re: ASSL '82; New Seltzer file (same one)

For some reason that last file from Umpy placed a bunch of players on his team that don't belong. I don't think it was him. Something happened when I loaded it at my end.

Valenzuela, Danny Boone, Warren Cromartie, Terry Forster, Steve Garvey, Pedro Guererro, Burt Hooton, Bob Knepper
