Re: Harper's Ferry vs Seltzer

The Armory didn't have much ammo as they got swept by Seltzer. They got outscored 18-9. 11-3 if you take out the 7-6 game.
Joaquin Andujar had all of his illegal pitches working as he scattered 7 hits, but got the big outs when needed as Seltzer won 3-0. A Ben Oglivie 2nd inning solo homer was all he needed.
Harper's Ferry scored 1st, but it was the only run they scored. Jim Sundberg's sac fly in the 5th was the game winner in a 2-1 Seltzer win. Jerry Reuss allowed just 4 hits in the win.
Sometime when you manage a game, you do stoopid stuff. Seltzer took out Bill Gullickson after 7 with a 6-1 lead. Harper's Ferry then came alive with 2 in the 8th and 3 more in the 9th. They had tied the game and had a runner on 1st with the final out of the top of the 9th ws recorded. John Wathan hit a 2 run triple and was plated by a Dusty Baker single. But it was all for naught as Greg Luzinski bailed out the dumb manager with a solo in the bottom of the 9th for a 7-6 Seltzer win. Luzinski finished with 4 rbi's as he also doubled. Von Hayes doubled and homered as well. The top 3 in Harper's Ferry lineup went 9-15, with 4 runs and 5 rbi's.
Seltzer got homers from Gary Roenicke and Brian Downing as they won 6-2. Scott Sanderson went 6-1 allowing just 1 run for the win. Bob Stanley got his 1st save.
