does 1x1 calls confirm on LOTW

I worked W5I this morning on 80 meters FT8 and was wondering if 1X1 calls confirm on LOTW.

None of the 1x1 calls that I have worked have been confirmed via LOTW.  My guess was that they don’t submit since the calls get re-used so much.

Most 1 x 1 SES are done by clubs.  My guess in that for many of the clubs they do not even have a LoTW account.  There operating may only consist of a one-time SES and FD, which would be burdensome.  Our club SES used e-certificates.  We only had 9 requests for a two day operation which was listed in QST.  Sure can’t print qsl cards for those kind of numbers, and club rarely gets a qsl request even for FD.

As smart as computers are ya would think they could make a window for each call

Like when K1N was used on Navassa,  it should be smart enough to know if a K1N call was logged in the window of operation on the island it would be good for the island. if it is out of the window  nope.

They sure do as long as whoevere is running W5I uploads their logs to LOTW. Sometimes for special events it takes a while for the logs to get uploaded. You have to have a little patience.

It realy comes down to if the the persons running the special events uploads to LOTW. It’s not that hard. Since a special events operation is on the air for a specific time period one just needs to get a cert for those dates. Just like a DXpedition would do. I have uploaded a few logs for some SE operations my club has done. We get all kinds of confirmations.

Yes they do. I have several 1X1 confirmed. They just have to submit the logs

Depends on the club etc.  We operated K4L earlier this year for National Library Week and used LOTW (and probably will next year). Worked great and wasn't alot of trouble.

I don’t think computers really “know” anything (but that is a different subject).

As far as K1N is concerned I will bet there was an LOTW account set up for that specific call.  The only confirmations via LOTW for Navassa via K1N would be for dates that applications matched the log submissions of that Navassa station operation.

I used W6W a few years ago and I had to get an LOTW certificate for the time period that I “owned” the call. You can get a special certificate by using you home call as a base certificate. We had it for Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Then you submit your logs and they match up to people who claim to have worked you. We had paper logs as we were remote and didn’t have the computers set up for it in time.

I will NEVER do that again! Bad handwriting, wrong time, wrong frequency...
Took me weeks to enter the logs.

But, it was fun and got Cabrillo National Monument on the air a few years before the ARRL NPOTA contest.

Good afternoon,
Some do. Mostly single location DXpedition. like K1N.
Most do not. Too many participants and locations to manage.
Anytime you work one, locate a link to the Special Event station and you will see QSL instructions.
I know the event I participate in (K3Y) has a very nice QSL card each year.
I also let them know I am the operator (OP KA5DWI) in the exchange and load them to LOTW under my call to give and receive credits for LOTW and Grid Chase.
