Adding Weather Warnings and Advisories to Weather station

My weather station, KF0KFL-13, is set up as per instructions found at: http://aprsisce.wikidot.com/doc:weather-stations.

I would like to somehow incorporate NWS Alerts in my area either as a comment or status on my station

Does anyone have an idea how to incorporate this from NWS Public Alerts in XML/CAP and ATOM Formats.

I found a program called NOAACAP, but only works with APRX or Direwolf. I'd prefer to continue using APRSIS32.

Thanks!

If you go to Configure> NWS> New office. You can set the NWS office you wish to monitor and any warnings that are pushed to APRS will be displayed on your 32. With the dev version you can then gate said warning messages and objects to RF. People would then not need to keep an eye on your wx station but just have the ability to recieve messages on APRS directed to the NWS_WARN group. I have my gates set to gate everything from NWS Pittsburgh.

I have added my office, MPX, but didn't see anything show up. Could it not be push to APRS IS?

Greg Depew

Only warnings of life threatening status like tornado or severe thunderstorm get pushed to aprs.
"Pete Loveall AE5PL created a new server which is limited to issuing (NWS nomenclature) Immediate and Actual alerts which primarily include warnings that potentially affect public safety."  https://www.aprs-is.net/WX/

Looking at MPX's page they only have winter headlines up, those don't qualify for the definition that APRS uses as most of the time you have a great lead time on winter stuff and have time to prepare. I'm not sure if snow squall warnings fall into the immediate category. I would think they would but I'm not sure when the last time it's been updated on the APRS side.

Hi John, it sounds like you want to automate this. I've seen KE0OPK (Aaron) in Cloquet do this kind of thing. Maybe you can ask him.
I've done something like this, but not automated. I just check the feed and send a bulletin over RF. You know how to do that, right?

Todd KD0TLS,

Yes I would like to automate. It's beyond my know how for now.

I'm not about checking feed and sending bulletin.

Currently waiting on a TNC before sending my WX over RF. It's currently internet only for time being.
