Uncheck Enables / Telemetry Enabled.  It won't cause it to disappear from aprs.fi, but it will cause it to stop updating.

Keep your priorities in order. Family comes first, everything else is a distant second, or so far in the distance it doesn’t even matter.

Go look after your family, support your granddaughter and her parents.

We will keep your granddaughter and your family in our thoughts and prayers.

Little ones are very vulnerable, but also very resilient. Here’s hoping she is a fighter and pushes through this ordeal.

My godson went through a similar situation, and today he is a healthy and vibrant 18 year old.

Just curious

Simple explanation:  The developer (aka ME aka KJ4ERJ) keeps adding new functionality before the previous functionality is sufficiently test for general release.  And then when the earlier functionality is stable and the newer functionality is looking good, more new stuff is added preventing a general release.

That said, I really, really, REALLY need to just push the current development version to general release since most everyone is already running it without (too many) issues.  As long as you ignore the nascent MbTiles functionality, it's really quite stable.

Thank you for asking.  Every nudge and reminder pushes me closer to making the time to actually DO the general release.

First, before editing the text file for updates:

If you installed the original download to the default directory that Windows 7 thru Windows 10 (and maybe Windows Vista) installs programs to, it will likely not function correctly. If you are using one of those Windows versions and installed APRSIS32 to the default directory, just uninstall it. Then re-install the original 2012 APRSIS32 download to something like C:\aprs or C:\ham\aprs, or whatever you want. Then, run the program once, and close it.

Find the file "APRSIS32.xml" in the directory that the program was installed in. Open the file in a text editor, look for the line: <Update.Development>0</Update.Development>

You'll have to scroll down almost to the bottom to get to that line.

Change the "0" to a "1" so it looks like this: <Update.Development>1</Update.Development>

Save and close the file. Restart APRSIS32, click "About" in the menu, and choose to update. It will do it's thing, and it might restart (I forget), but that will update it.

First thing is to make sure you have the latest version. Then, if you are using the default map, go to the main menu and click "Enables", and make sure "OSM Fetch Enabled" is check-marked.

Then in the menu, go to Configure>Map and be sure that "Purger Enabled" is NOT check-marked. If it's check-marked, it purges the map tiles when you close the program, so you have to download the tiles all over again when starting the program.

From what I understand, you'll need to zoom in and out of the map areas you plan to track, in order to automatically download the tiles for more resolution. After it's all downloaded, it should work when you're off-line. Someone might have better explanation or solution, though.

Open the file in a text editor, look for the line:   0

You'll have to scroll down almost to the bottom to get to that line.

Change the "0" to a "1" so it looks like this:   1

Save and close the file.  Restart APRSIS32, click "About" in the menu, and choose to update.  It will do it's thing, and it might restart (I forget), but that will update it.
