Re: RX/TX From radio/tnc
To use simply KISS, you need to place the KPC3 in KISS mode by external means. There are a couple of apps out there and a batch file to place the KPC3 in KISS and start APRSIS32 Then when you exit

Alright, I got everything set up and running. Using an object for weather reporting under the same SSID and same location, it seems to be working correctly? Hopefully. It gave me a warning when I set

Re: RX/TX From radio/tnc
Like Brian said, your TNC will need to be in KISS mode when your start APRSISCE/32.
It sounds like it is not in KISS mode.
BTW, I waved when I went past your house last Tuesday. 🤪

Re: RX/TX From radio/tnc
If your TNC is not already in kiss mode then the port probably won’t work.

Re: RX/TX From radio/tnc
The log file says you are using the Kenwood port type. Your TNC will not respond to Kenwood TNC commands.
Use the simply KISS interface.

ALL aprs server respond to the standard port numbers. It’s part of the server software. You will want to connect to port 145980 and then send a message to “server” to set up your port filters.

Lynn,
Thanks for the info. I had visited the noam.aprs2.net url looking for the port number but did not find any reference to APRS, The website appears to be the host for some form of HTTP server

Re: RX/TX From radio/tnc
If I read his comment correctly, he used a terminal emulator from a different PC than the one that runs APRSIS32. So it's likely a bigger issue than just speed and such.

Re: RX/TX From radio/tnc
Several things:
1) KISS mode is designed for use with Kenwood APRS radios' internal TNCs. It is not designed for a KPC-3+. You'll eventually want either Simply(KISS) with the TNC

Re: RX/TX From radio/tnc
Can I suggest looking at the driver for usb to d plug. Windows will update drivers. It could be a cloned chip in the usb as I have seen the same issue.
Going back to the old driver of 2007 resolves
