The rest of the world will tell you that it will work. If putty can access the serial port on the machine, then APRSISCE/32 should be able to as well. You will need to release the port from putty

Hi Lynn. Got up early and used another cable on com6. Have putty connected and redid VHF2 port on APRSIS32. Putty is seeing the strings with no problem. Negative action from the APRSIS32 though.

Please define "would not connect". If it can't open the COMM port, then you still have something running that has it open. If it's just not receiving, then a few minutes may not be enough

Putty or any other terminal emulator can LISTEN to KISS-formatted traffic. It's still serial data. The packet headers will be non-printable and graphics characters, but the packet payloads
