Re: Kenwood TH-D74 APRS12 Mode
No, in KISS mode, it's just a TNC, with no interpretation of what comes in/out, so no reporting of beacons received, nor sending of beacons out. But you can transmit from APRSIS32 using it.

Re: APRSIS32 on WIN10 Tablet
Did you make sure you installed it in a root directory, like c:\aprsis32, or c:\hamradio, etc.? There are problems when it's installed in Windows' default directory.

Did you unzip the program into a freshly created empty folder? And is it truly Windows 10, not one of the hybrid Windows that still claim the "10" moniker.

Re: Kenwood TH-D74 APRS12 Mode
Just curious... Is there any advantage to running the D74 in APRS mode, instead of KISS? E.g., do APRS beacons show up on the D74's display and on APRSIS32 if in APRS mode?

Re: Kenwood TH-D74 APRS12 Mode
I just paired my D74 with my laptop (once I got Windows 10 to recognize it) and created a new port of type "CONVerse" which isn't exactly correct, but for your purposes it should work.

Within APRSIS32, you can select only those stations heard via RF.
Toolbar>View>RF should get you started.
The error of KISS:Missing … means that APRSI32 is not listening to a device configured

Topo maps
I need to know where to acquire topo maps for U.S, and how to handle them to create tiles for use with a S&R team. Using Yaesu VX8DR (3) as trackers with the APRSIS32. Any info appreciated.

The 74A is sending the GPS data directly from the DStar simplex signal. In otherwards the radio is not in APRS/KISS mode which you cannot do while using DStar. APRSIS32 sees the GPS data

If you are using USB, try a cable with filters on it.
Also try a 3-prong adapter when plugging the laptop into AC.
